About this villa rental
Casa Caravela (180 m²) is a recently renovated and charming split-level villa set on a generous 1,400 m² plot, which also includes a separate garden studio. The villa is located on a hillside near Salema Beach (Praia da Salema) and Salema’s center, on a quiet cul-de-sac secured by a private gate. Enjoy sunsets and ocean views from the elevated, south-facing terrace, or walk to the beach and nearby restaurants.
The fully air-conditioned villa is tastefully furnished and offers plenty of poolside and terrace seating. It is surrounded by a private driveway and a lush tropical garden, complete with a perfectly manicured lawn and gently swaying palm trees. Wi-Fi and internet TV are available.
On the lower floor, you’ll find three spacious double bedrooms, each with direct access to the secluded private pool (4 m by 8 m, depth ranging from 0.9 m to 1.8 m). One of the bedrooms includes a lounge bench that can be converted into an additional bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, a separate shower, and a toilet. The second bathroom, a separate toilet, and built-in closets are also located on this floor.
Upstairs, there is a large, fully equipped kitchen separated from the open-plan ocean-view lounge and dining area, which features a fireplace, a marble floor, and adjacent spacious terraces overlooking the sea. A third toilet and a cloakroom can also be found on this level.
There are three terraces in total: one at pool and garden level with a built-in barbecue, another larger terrace overlooking the pool with stunning ocean views—ideal for sunbathing and alfresco dining—and a cozy terrace next to the dining area for shelter on windy days. Behind the villa is a spacious backyard and parking area.
At the rear of the property, there is a brand-new separate garden studio. It has two bedrooms separated by a bathroom with a shower and a toilet. The first bedroom features a double or king-size bed, while the second bedroom has a bunk bed that sleeps two people.
Salema’s wide, sandy Blue Flag beach offers safe bathing, with beach loungers, umbrellas, and cabanas available for rent, and the possibility of enjoying a massage. In the village, you’ll find small supermarkets, as well as several wonderful local restaurants and bars—all within walking distance of the villa.

The house is beautifully decorated and the communal areas are very spacious. The garden looks to have been recently landscaped and, along with the pool makes a lovely outdoor space. We were a group of ten and the space worked well for us with four teenagers sharing the garden studio (which is compact but well designed). Salema itself is our new favourite place in the Algarve, we absolutely loved it and couldn’t fault it. We enjoyed eating out in the pizzeria, Boia and Agua na Boca (the latter being a more formal restaurant). Hans and Will were very responsive and helpful when we experienced teething issues. The only criticism I could voice is that more/better pillows would make for an even more comfortable stay. The beds themselves were very comfy! Thank you.

The property is stunning the photos don't do it justice. The view from the balcony and lounge is like a sea view painting. I couldn't fault the place, there was nothing that it didn't have. The walk down the hill from the villa is fine, going back up tho pulled on your calves there are a handful of local restaurants with very good food. The two little bars were friendly and intimate. I don't want this place to change and don't want others to know about it so it stays peaceful, beautiful and chilled for our return.
