Guaya Hostel

Small, friendly, family run, relaxed, clean and well located for bus station.

There was nothing that we didn't like. I found the music quite loud in evening - no other guests seemed to be there and Santiago was happy to turn it off when I asked, just so as to be able to enjoy the peace.

It was very welcoming and friendly . The room was cool and clean . We loved the little dog and the staff .

The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic, more than what I expected. There is a kitchen space with cooking utensils, oil and seasonings, with seating outside. The private bathroom was clean and appreciated. The bed was comfortable enough. The neighbourhood is quiet. Coco the dog (poodle mix) is adorable and just as friendly.

Very friendly staff. They tried to accommodate our early departure by bringing some breakfast to us. Super nice. Suuuuper cute dog. Good location, Central, close to ADO bus station. Overall nice vibes, with the garden, hammocks etc.

We felt that Merida is pretty expensive in general, but still, for over 30€/night we expected more. The bed was very uncomfortable. Super hard bed. Uncomfortable pillows. The towels were super old. Hardly any electric outlets in room. Room super dark. Only way to get more light was to open the curtain of the glass room door, but then everyone could look inside. Stains on bed linen. The AC was super loud, rather weak and the control didn't work most of the time. "Asian style" bathroom with no shower cabin, just a shower curtain.. so the whole floor gets wet. Shower curtain is also poorly fixed and came down once. Lots of mosquitoes in the garden and reception area.
