About this house rental
A great spot for a family holiday at an affordable price.
Swimming, kayaking, bush and beach walks, fishing, diving, whitebaiting, sightseeing is all within easy walking or driving distance.(or reading, watching tele, enjoying a tipple, and sleeping if that's more your idea of a holiday...)
The Catlins is a bit of a "well-kept secret" and Kaka Point is an excellent gateway to this district. On a days outing you can see stunning scenery, all sorts of marine mammals and birds, or enjoy any number of beach or bush walks. Alternatively, bring your flounder net, or snorkelling gear and grab yourselves a feed. The wee kids love collecting cockles, which you can cook up the following day.
If the weather is inclement, light the fire, put on some old records, and have a relaxing time enjoying the solitude.
If you need to bring a pet, please enquire personally. Please note that the section is not fully fenced and that pets and or children have a very large area of bush behind the house in which to get lost!
There is tea and coffee in the crib. Please take perishable food away when you leave.
Special conditions:
Smoking allowed outside only.
Please contact owner for any special requests prior to arrival.
Over the Christmas/New Years period there is a minimum 2 night stay required.
Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Leave the house tidy and do the dishes before you leave;

We had an awesome stay at Bonnie Doon. Arrived to a lit fire and a beautifully clean crib. Beds were comfy and warm, loved playing the old records, enjoyed the bush walk right off the property and strolls down to the beach. The dawn chorus is pretty special- so much serenity!

Best place ever! Home away from home vibes. Cozy and warm and the fire was going when we got there, that was a very welcome surprise. Highly recommend Bonny Doone for a very relaxing stay.

It was fine but process of booking and paying was
difficult.
The other things which spoilt an otherwise great stay- no wifi ( we assumed there would be) and no clear directions to find property which was tucked away up a drive that had no directions, and no number on or near house. We spent ages trying to locate house.
