Luderna - Apartamento Val de Ruda A3 Baciver

We loved the apartment and the location and had a wonderful week. We'd definitely go back to this same apartment again. (see below for cautionary tips) The apartment building, one of many in a large complex, is very attractive, with mountain-style architecture, with lots of woodwork, lovely balconies, real fireplaces, etc. This apartment is located right beside the main gondola lift, just across the plaza from the main ticket office and the little shopping plaza with a small grocery/convenience store which also sells wine and other alcoholic beverages. We loved the location and the convenience of everything. We would highly recommend it. The entire complex of apartment buildings has an enormous underground garage with a huge, very convenient ski storage space. The apartment itself is lovely. It has a fireplace and comfortable, well -kept furnishings, as well as a very decent-sized balcony overlooking the steep mountain face directly opposite. The apartment faces the inside courtyard, so it's very quiet. There is a parking space for one car in the garage right beside the door to the staircase and elevator to the apartment.

Although we loved the apartment and its location, finding it and getting into it late at night felt a bit like an escape room challenge! Here are some tips so that other non-Spanish-speaking guests unfamiliar with the resort will have an easier time than we did finding this specific apartment. (Important clue: there is neither an apartment nor a parking space with the number "A3" despite the name of this apartment "Luderna - Apartamento Val de Ruda A3" on the website. (Presumably, A3 refers to a section of Val de Ruda Street.) This apartment is C3 on the third floor (not A3), and the garage spot is #65 in the C section while the staircase near the parking spot is C4 ("Esc" written on the info you'll receive means "staircase") In fact, the garage has letters B-G. but no A section at all! Very Important: Be sure to have the actual apartment door code and the parking garage code BEFORE you attempt to go into the garage (for example, if some kind local lets you in) since there is no internet service once you are underground, and you won't be able to call or text the emergency number, nor will you be able to get out again without the code! Also: coming from the Vielha direction, Val de Ruda Street is the long narrow lane right beside the large public parking lot on the right after you pass the big white Baqueira Beret sign. It doesn't look like a street at first, so don't be deceived. The parking garage is at the end of the street at the roundabout. Hope this helps. We would definitely return now that we have this "course knowledge"!
