Amazing location, food was poor.

Amazing location, characterful auberge.

Poor quality food for the price. No issue to charge more given the rural location but €22 for pesto ravioli, which tasted like it had come straight out of a packet is not good enough. Plat du jour (beef casserole with spaghetti) tasted like it had been cooking all year…pretty dreadful. A few km’s up the road is a Pizzeria run by a bakery business - much better for food.

Cozy hotel with fantastic view

Cozy little hotel with a fantastic view over Gorge du Verdon. Friendly staff and a great location for exploring the beautiful surroundings. Our family room was ok, but it was small for 4 persons. The hotel has a nice restaurant.

The only thing that was a minus was the over prized breakfast.

The hotel is located in a beautiful setting, with a wonderful view of the Verdon. The staff were very nice and welcoming.

Comfortable stay in exactly the right spot for visiting the gorge.

Evening meals on the terrace and a short evening stroll to one of the best views in the world. My wife arrived with a sprained ankle and they immediately supplied some ice to help. More ice was provided throughout our stay. Staff were very friendly and polite and multi lingual.

Beautiful location.

The location was absolutely fabulous. From the front door able to pick up hiking trails in the Verdon Gorge. We also had an evening meal which was good. Accommodation was characterful and clean.

The service was beyond great, the lady at the reception helped us with everything we needed. The location was also great, a kilometer walk to Rougon (uphill) and just at the start of the Verdon Gorge hike.

Exceptional

The terrece of the restaurant has a magnificent view. The room was clean and beautiful. The room opens to a wonderful terrace where you get scenic views, and can go sunbathing. The host and staff were all very friendly and nice. Magnificent location. The dinner in the restaurant was superb - really interesting and tasty dishes!

The room had kind instructions to be mindful about water and using it sparingly, which made me a little nervous about using the shower 🤭 But this is very understandable at this altitude and with these scarce rains.

Great location, staff and service

The hotel is located perfectly near the mouth of the Gorges du Verdon. Also only a short, uphill hike to the cute village of Rougon. Staff is extremely helpful and professional, even arranging a taxi service to take our packs from there to our next hotel so we could hike the Gorge without heavy packs. Restaurant also very good.

A couple of spiders in room, that's about it. Like every place in Europe I wish there were screen windows since there is no AC.

Perfectly situated hotel with friendly staff

A very friendly staff in a hotel that is perfectly situated for hiking the famous Blanc-Martel route. You can take a bus or taxi from the hotel to go the starting point and the hotel is the end point. The hotel also offers lunchboxes if you aim to hike. The room was basic but everything was fine and clean.

Simple yet comfortable

Perfect location for viewpoints and hiking. Excellent terrace restaurant with very friendly service to guests. Ample parking.

No wall mounting for shower head, no shower curtain, no air conditioning, limited Wifi (to be expected in a remote location), noise from restaurant during the day, easy to hear neighbours through thin walls, a few spider friends (to be expected in a rural location)

La proximité avec les lieux à visiter dans les gorges du verdon

Le personnel discute pendant des heures avec des amis sans s'occuper des clients qui attendent au bar pour être servis. Les clients au second plan ... Les prix sont exorbitants par rapport à la qualité. Les lits sont simples sont tout petit et très étroits. On prend une chambre triple mais il n'y a la place que pour 2 lit simple et un fauteuil (scandaleux). Un chien a aboyé pendant plus de 2h non stop parce que les clients de la chambre d'à côté étaient sortis sans lui. Impossible de dormir de 23h00 à 1h00 du matin. (Les murs sont en papier, on entend tout). Fuyez !! Et tout ça pour 144euros en hors saison pour 2 personnes... Et je n'en suis pas à mon premier hôtel !

Aussergewöhnliche, ruhige Lage mit toller Aussicht. Sehr freundliches Personal. Als Selbstversorger (wir hatten unterschiedliche Informationen über die Öffnungszeiten des Restaurantes) wurde uns für das Nachtessen ein grosszügiger Aufenthaltsraum zur Verfügung gestellt.
