La casa del Balivo

We loved the whole, recently and beautifully renovated home. The pictures don’t do it enough justice. Every corner of the house is covered with various authentic pieces of furniture and wall ornaments. Our room on the first floor had a wonderful view over the city into the valley, a very beautiful and large wooden bed and a life-saving AC unit during 38°C August days. The bathroom provided a shower, hair dryer, bidet, 3 sizes of towels and free toiletries. The kitchen was another gem, providing a homemade sweet breakfast with tea and coffee in a very special authentic Sardinian atmosphere. There was also an available fridge for guests to use. On top of that there is a sunlit terasse with an even better view. Limited free parking is available in a parallel street downwards. We could also rent out a beach umbrella for free. Antonio is a extraordinarily hospitable host, who helped us find a parking spot, gave us a very detailed overview for nearby excursions, hikes and restaurants and was always available via WhatsApp.

Nel centro di Dorgali, sembra di entrare in una favola. Ambiente unico e stupendo curato nei minimi dettagli. Una ampia terrazza in comune dove abbiamo potuto guardare la sfilata per la festa dell'Assunta, che consiglio tutti di vedere: cavalli, vesti tradizionali e assunta sul calesse trainata da tori. Nella camera materassi comodi e climatizzatore. Nella cucina in comune tutta attrezzata, un grande frigorifero e frizer per l'utilizzo agli ospiti con scomparti dedicati per ogni stanza. Antonio ci ha accolti e viziati con la colazione rispettando le intolleranze. Inoltre non ha mancato ha darci informazioni. Ci tornerò sicuramente. Lo consiglio. Grazie

Mancanza della finestra in bagno Mancanza del gas in cucina per cucinare, però disponibilità del microonde per scaldare e di tutte le stoviglie necessarie per utilizzare la stanza anche per pranzo o cena entro le 21 se si volesse. Difficoltà nel trovare il parcheggio, probabilmente perché nel centro storico, ma anche perché abbiamo soggiornato proprio nei giorni di festa in paese per l'Assunta.

Extremely accommodating and friendly host. The location and all the local advice was great. La casa del Balivo is not just comfortable but charming. We felt at home and well looked after.

The location is nice. They provide “free” biscuits for breakfast.

The staff were incredibly suspicious. You have to pay everything in cash. It’s a lot of money for a small service that they provide. It wasn’t a pleasant experience.
