When going to Kinmen, chances are high you'll stay at a B&B. There are a lot of them making the choice quite difficult. I finally ended up staying at Shang Her Yuan and the wonderful host Susan. Besides the free airport pick-up and drop-off, she brought me to Maestro Wu's famous knife factory. Later during my stay she also helped me a lot with ideas where and how to go and also lent me a bicycle. Her English is very limited so it will be helpful if you can speak basic Mandarin; however, we managed to get along very well with the help of a translator app and eventually managed to have longer conversations. The included breakfast wasn't just the standard food you get at every hotel. Susan asked me beforehand what I'd like to eat and gave me some local specialties every morning. Location: The B&B is located on the Eastern part of Kinmen about 10-15 minutes walk from Shanway bus station. That's important because pretty much all buses on Kinmen depart either from there or from Jincheng bus station on the Western part of the island. Between both there are very frequent connections. I'll definitely stay there again when visiting Kinmen the next time.

The owner took extra steps to take care of their guest. In their way, they did their best to make sure my trip a life time experience. They even provided good advises for sightseeing and restaurants. My deepest appreciation to the owner
