About this apartment rental

This bright and cheery newly renovated apartment is located near shops, restaurants and museums in the heart of the fashionable Left Bank just one block from the Luxembourg Gardens.

Combining the best of old world charm with state of the art amenities, the apartment includes a fully equipped gourmet cook's kitchen, slate tile bath with sunken tub and shower, original art, antiques and hardwood floors.

An objective of the renovation was to optimize the apartment area (649 square feet) and offer a large open area with light coming from three sides and minimize circulation area.

There is a separate large bedroom with a queen bed, as well as a convertible sofa with double mattress in the living room; each with independent access to the bathroom. The dining room seats six comfortably.

Amenities include a flat screen television, high speed internet access (fiber optics), CD and DVD players, dryer, washer, dishwasher, fresh fruit juicer, Braun and Nespresso coffee makers, and microwave.

The apartment provides all of the comforts of home, yet the location on the fourth floor above an open and airy garden courtyard with views of quaint Paris buildings and rooftops will remind you that you have 'come home' to one of the most exciting and glamorous cities in the world.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE CANCELLATION POLICY:
Since we rent the apartment for longer stays (more than three weeks and exceptionally two weeks), our clientele typically reserves more than nine months in advance. As a result, if a client cancels the reservation less than nine months before the start of the stay, there is a distinct possibility that we may not relet the apartment for the same period. In the "Cancellation Section" of the VRBO website we chose "none" as the options offered by the website are not compatible with our long term rental approach. In fact, our cancellation condition is as follows:
Up to 6 months prior to beginning of stay: 90%
Less than 6 months:

Two cases:

1. The apartment is rented for the same period:
- 90% of the rent received from the canceled reservation if the new reservation rent is the same or longer.


2. The apartment is rented for a portion of the initial reservation period:
The refund will be calculated the same way as in 1. above except that the calculation will only apply to the period relet.
Example for 2:
The period cancelled was March 1 to April 30 and the total rent was $17,000. The client had made a $8,500 payment at reservation.
After cancellation, the apartment is only rented from March 1 to April 15 with total rent $12,750, 75% of the time.
After owner has received the entire rent of the new reservation, the calculation of the refund due is: 75% x 90% x $8,500 = $5.737.50

3. If the apartment is remains entirely vacant during the entire cancelled reservation period, no reimbursement is due.

This apartment has about everything you would want. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room/living room with adequate seating and dining table for 4, a separate bedroom, washer/dryer and bathroom with dual sinks and a separate toilet room.The neighborhood is safe. There is a Franprix store right next door, which has all you would need for food, drinks and household supplies. There is a wonderful, prize-winning bakery right around the corner. Though it is closed most of August, other bakeries are available within two blocks. There are numerous restaurants close by. Though none of them is outstanding, all are good and friendly. There is a large, open air farmers' market close by three days a week. The apartment is less than two blocks away from the Luxembourg Gardens. Within 500 yards are Métro stations on two separate lines with connections to anywhere in Paris.The one caution we would offer is not to rely too much on the air conditioning. It is a stand-alone room air conditioner that is not very powerful. If you stand in front of it, it will keep you cool, but it is not enough to cool the apartment on a hot day. That being said, it is unusual to have any air conditioning at all in a Paris apartment.

The apt is correctly represented in the photos. Roomy enough to have space but feels cozy. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and excellent shower. The location was great…5 mins walk to Garden Luxembourg with many metro and bus stops close. Odéon a 10-12 min walk. Deux Maggots on Blvd St Germain same. A Franprix grocery right next door. The host prepared a copious manual that serves well on all details. Felt very safe too.

Description was very accurate. Well appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds and convenient location to many sights. Easy access to great markets restaurants in the neighbourhood. Would we stay there again… a resounding yes!

This is without a doubt the best apartment stay I've had in the seventeen years I've been renting in Paris. Perfect location...easy to get to the Luxembourg Gardens, to shopping, to the grocery store, to the Marche Raspail and after two weeks. I felt like it was my neighborhood. The staff at the 20/Go grocery store next door were great help and were cordial and friendly. I met a couple of people who live in the building who were also friendly and helpful...particularly the first day when I forgot what the digicode was and had left my notes in the apartment. THAT only happens ONCE!! The apartment itself is very comfortable, beautifully furnished and I felt very secure in the building. I loved that the bedroom windows opened into the trees...dappled sunlight in the afternoon, bird songs all day long, and with shutters closed and windows opened, cool breezes at night. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with those of us who come to Paris from time to time.
