Tristen Room
Old faded carpets, burnt pots, hole in curtain, even when filling out form for breakfast order, they would get it wrong. Not a big deal for us but detracts from being exceptional.
Absence of owner or someone who can socially connect with guests.
Oh yes, Toilet seat cover kept falling off on opening or closing.
One gets the feeling the place has had its hey day but the owner no longer has the passion to drive it anymore, keep their finger on the pulse and spend what's necessary to properly maintain it.

Breakfast was very nice as well as the location of the hotel
The bed was terrible in our room. It was too small and very uncomfortable. The noise level as well from the kitchen as well as the rest of the hotel was crazy very early in the morning.
