Booking in was a breeze and we were in our room within minutes. Very spacious room with a bed, chair, desk, TV etc. The shower was huge with plenty of towels though a few small tablets of soap would have been appreciated for the wash handbasin. Water temperature was very hot and the pressure was good, despite us being on the top floor. Heating was more than adequate.
Breakfast, continental style, was plentiful, with a good range of cereals, yogurt, fruit juices, paid de raisin etc.
It was a bit of a trek down to town and hard trek up the hill back to the monastery. There was a warm, cosy, traditional pub, the Airedale Heifer, about ten minutes walk down the hill, but unfortunately wasn't serving food at the time of our visit. Don't expect Wetherspoon prices.
Don't miss a visit to the church and a walk around the grounds.
The boiling water tap in the breakfast room wasn't working. Had to boil a kettle to make tea - the coffee was great though!

Poor breakfast self service only fruit and cereals on offer had to go out for breakfast.
