About this villa rental
Rancho Cantarrana is a 2-hectare farm, located in a rural area surrounded by meadows and pineapple fields.
There are two houses: a house where the gardener lives and next to the villa, in the middle of a garden full of tropical plants and flowers, where you will be accompanied by a large variety of birds.
The house has a covered veranda on all sides and at the rear a pergola that gives access to the swimming pool with waterfall and slide.
The property is entirely ground floor, with a fully equipped open kitchen.
The caretaker Kattie lives on walking distance of the house and is always available for travel tips and solving practical problems.
The zone is flat, but has a view of the central high mountains of Costa Rica and even a bit of the Arenal Volcano.
The house is 300 meters from the village of Santa Fe, where there are some small grocers, and 20 minutes by car from the town of Aguas Zarcas where there are supermarkets, banks, ATMs and pharmacies.
The San Carlos region is Costa Rica's most important agricultural and livestock farming area: dairy cattle, sugar cane, pineapple, root crops. The proximity of the volcanic high mountains means that an abundance of nature can be enjoyed: hot water baths, rivers, waterfalls, wetlands and tropical vegetation.
San Carlos is a mix of authentic Costa Rican culture, agriculture and nature.

The owner and care taker are great to work with. The pool area was nice and the area surrounding the house was nice. The only thing that was mildly annoying was that only about half of the windows opened and had screens so if you opened them you would get large moths or other bugs in the house.
