About this house rental
Our home, our legacy... your playground and escape. Your home away from home. This beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, lake facing and lake shore property sleeps 8-10 comfortably. Spacious and fully equipped open kitchen. Loft suite with King bed and walk in shower. 2 main floor bedrooms and bathroom and one bedroom and bath on the lower level. Open floor plan. Very large deck, patio, gas grill and seating for eight or more. Washer & Dryer on lower level.
NOTE: Our nightly rate is based upon 8 guests for your stay. Any additional guests incur an extra charge of $40 per night, per guest, to account for the extra cleaning, linens and towels necessary during their stay.
There is 85 feet of sandy beach and lake shore just steps from the front door. Dock available for securing your boat and fish house for cleaning fish. Birch Lake is incredibly clear and suitable for swimming, fishing, jet skiing, and boating. Bass, Northerns, Walleye, Crappies and Sunny's can all be caught on Birch Lake. The public landing is just 1 mile from our dock.
Birch Lake never disappoints with beautiful sunsets summer or winter. Within walking distance from our home is the beautiful Paul Bunyan State Trail, a multi-use recreational rail trail running between the cities of Brainerd and Bemidji. Named after the giant lumberjack Paul Bunyan of American folklore, the trail is the longest continuously paved trail in the United States. Excellent for biking, hiking, in-line skating and snowmobiling.
Hackensack is walking distance from the home and the locals welcome the opportunity to share Mark's Market grocery store, Swansons Bait Shop, weekly meat raffles at the American Legion, the best Hardware store, pickle ball courts, disc frisbee and the central town playground for youngsters. When not on the lake check out Rendezvous Brewing, Barrel & Vine, The Dipper, Sun & Fun and so much more!
Walker is just 20 minutes north and is home to many shops and eating establishments. Be sure to check out Northern Lites Casino, Green Scene, Lundrigans, and so many fun shops.
Winter in this home brings a whole new level of serenity! It is beautiful and quiet. The perfect place to rest, reflect and share comfort food over meaningful conversations, fires on the snow covered beach or fireplace and catching up on long awaited book reading. Perfect for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice-fishing and more. Cozy and intimate this is one of the most beautiful times of year to celebrate.

We enjoyed another great stay at Odie’s Place. Plenty of space for everyone on three levels with a view that can’t be beat. They have thought of everything you need in the kitchen and the extra fridge/freezer in the garage comes in handy. The beach area is great for reading, floating/paddle boarding and camp fires. We enjoyed the patio and deck area as well. Everyone could enjoy a meal together at the huge kitchen table or have multiple games going on at once. Communication with the hosts has always been exceptional. Odie’s Place is truly special.

This property works out perfectly for our family. Everything you need is available whether I the kitchen, the family room or at the beach. Great location, lake and views. We will return again next year!

We have been renting cabins for over 15 years with 3 generations of family and Odie’s Place had something for everyone. The cabin itself is beautiful, spacious and very well stocked. They thought of everything from kitchen gadgets and appliances to interior lighting and decorations that set the mood perfectly. We had a few rainy days but thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in this beautiful cabin as well as exploring Hackensack and taking in a movie at the Bear Pause movie theater. The outdoor space is amazing-a deck to enjoy a meal or play games, a patio to spend some time soaking in the view and smell of pine and the wonderful beach with plenty of seating including chairs, a hammock and a swing as well as a fire pit area and beach hut to store all of the fun beach toys. Great communication with owners as well. Wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend to friends and family- a true gem!
