This is by far the worst accomodation we experienced in thailand. Stay away. The pictures are great, and the surrounding jungle and river are really nice - that's it. The rooms are very poorly made and finished, there are no locks on doors, no insect mesh in the windows so you can't open them at night because there are monkeys, cockroaches and other critters around. No AC, just 2 old loud fans, no safe, no tv or wifi in the room, a padlock on the door, latches in the windows that barely hold on, exposed wiring and electrical connections, dust, spiderwebs, sewer stench, citronella bug repellents hanging around, lightbulbs are so yellow i wonder if they have been changed in 20 years. Toilet seat is smaller than it's bowl, no space to put your cosmetics out, shower's heater is faulty and old so no steady heat setting for you, on top of that when you take a shower you spray all over the toilet, toilet paper hanger and the trash can - enjoy everything in the bathroom getting wet after shower. Mold, ants, fungus. We were charged over 2k bhat for this room, and while we stayed in over 15 locations all over thailand this one is by far the worst and most overpriced for what it's offering. I'd be ashamed to charge money for it.

Good place but I don’t recommend it

The place is amazing in the nature, even better than the photos.

The staff (specially the young girl who manages everything) is super obsessed all the time about money and control you. Also the room was not amazing for the price we paid (expensive being Thailand). In general the place was amazing but we didn’t feel confortable with the treat we received. She was pretending to be nice when she was selling us tours, but then she changed completely.

Jungle stay

Location and houses/rooms that are far from one another. Feels like you are staying in a jungle treehouse. So be prepared for the insects!

Staff wasn’t particularly friendly. Especially when they found out we weren’t booking any tours with them. On the weekend we had buffet breakfast. On our last morning which was a weekday, it was no buffet but we were only allowed to choose one option from the menu. Therefore if I wanted a piece of toast after my muesli, I had to pay for the toast. Given the amount of money we paid to stay, surely toast can be provided for free if buffet is not available.

We had a great stay at this charming hotel, which offers the perfect blend of tranquility and nature. The location is truly unique—set in the middle of the jungle, it provides a sense of isolation that's hard to find. The hotel is near a river where we could watch monkeys play, making it feel like an immersive wildlife experience right from our doorstep. If you're looking to relax and unwind, this place is an absolute haven. Needless to say that you must embrace the jungle creatures and humidity coming from the river, rain and jungle :) The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the main street, where you'll find plenty of restaurants, so you still have easy access to food and local life while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. As for the rooms, they were simple yet very charming. While not luxurious, they had everything we needed, and the rustic charm was a perfect match for the natural setting. Overall, a wonderful stay that we’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature.

While the overall experience was fantastic, there were a couple of aspects that could be improved. First, the rooms are relatively close together, which can affect your privacy and overall sense of tranquility, especially if you're unlucky enough to have noisy neighbors. Unfortunately, during our stay, we had two girls next door who, instead of embracing the serenity of the jungle, decided to make new friends….and chat loudly well into the night. We could hear every sound, and it was disruptive. Thankfully, the staff was very understanding and moved us to a quieter room. Another small downside was the receptionist. While she was friendly, she seemed more focused on selling every possible tour package the moment we arrived. It felt a bit too pushy, especially when all we wanted was to settle in and enjoy the peace of the place.

Amazing!

The staff went above and beyond for us during our stay. Helped with excursions and were so informative and friendly. Seeing monkeys everyday was amazing bonus for us! Being able to walk into town and also swim from the river was amazing. Our second stay and we’ll definitely be back again.

Poor experience, book something else

Staff was very unpleasant and disrespectful unfortunately. Especially the managerial staff. On top of the beds being pretty dirty, electricity was cut off in the middle of one night for many bungalows, which took more than 3 hours to repair. No communication at all, and of course no working fans. There was no AC in the rooms, so we were just dying of heat. We tried to get a small commercial gesture, but they absolutely refused. Really mediocre experience. Don't go there!

It's rugged and rustic..

The aesthetics of this lodge are the main attractions; rustic, cabin-like, and remotely set in nature.

If you're into rustic, camping like conditions, this is the place for you- I am not that person. Please read on with that in mind.. The staff were less than friendly, cold, and borderline rude. When interacting with the front desk it felt like I was in a time-share meeting where she aggressively pitched very expense excursions. I found the room to be adequate in size, and nestled into nature which was a fun experience. The two fans provided did nothing for the stagnant heat, and the doors/windows did little to keep out the mosquitoes, other bugs, and lizards. The bed and linens were both comfortable. A mosquito net is provided- please inspect for holes/ snags. The windows are very creaky. If you're an early riser, attempting to get some fresh air, pease note you'll likely wake those in the surrounding cabins while opening/closing each. In regards to swimming in the river area- I was told the river was a safe place to swim in. After finding a shoot off the paved resort path I waded into the waters and was immediately bit by a freshwater pufferfish; an alarming experience for both the fish and myself. Swim at your own risk. The dining experience was mostly pleasant and the food was good. The massaman curry is excellent and the breakfast options were filling and cateried to a western diet. Beware of the mosquitoes. There is not enough air circulation in the dining areas, as you're nestled into nature, to avoid these abundant pests. All in all - This is a place I'd come to dine for a night, not necessarily a place I'd stay again.

Tropical Tree House stay in Khao Sok!

Loved the jungle concept with the treehouse we stayed in. The treehouses were set off the ground which made it feel nice and secure. Loved the balcony view of the river and

Amazing stay in the jungle

We really liked the location, right by the river. The staff was very friendly and helpful and had a few days out options to offer. We went on an elephant experience and also spent a full day at Khao Sok National Park. Both were brilliant! Everything was well organised at the Lodge, the food was nice, and we got lucky enough to witness the monkeys playing and bathing in the river. We even saw a couple of otters one evening. It was truly a lovely experience.

Do not expect a massive buffet for breakfast. It was enough for us as there was a selection of both cold and hot dishes. The cereal bowls could have been a little bit bigger !

The windows have quite a few creaks which make it easy for bugs to get in the room. Also wish there was more lights on the little roads to the houses. There are a lot of stray dogs around. There is a bug net which is nice and the food was nice

All in all it was lovely for a couple of nights for us as a family of four.

Awesome and unique location, the property is stunning and cool in the jungle. The restaurant area is gorgeous and hangs over the river with the limestone cliff rising above. Monkeys gather here which are fun to watch. You have to watch out they don’t jump in your windows though! The main village is a short walk with plenty of bars and restaurants. This is also the location to be in for all the different tours you do, including rafting down the river, tubing and Khao Sok lake tours. FYI - take earplugs for the lake as the boats are super loud.

The room was very basic. Only had two prong power points which meant we had to buy another adapter. The bedroom has fans which was fine for us travelling in late August. The beds were super hard and uncomfortable and very little bench space to put anything.

Fine for a couple of days. Nice location!

It’s a decent place, located in pretty grounds and right on the river with a spot for a refreshing dip in the sea. Tours were easy to organise through the hotel. Breakfast was nice, and the restaurant area is very pleasant. You can also hire a bike for 350 baht a day - a bit steeper than the avegrage but convenient.

The room needed an update. There was no aircon which we knew ahead of time but for the price, you could expect one. The place felt a bit unkept, which again, for the price, you’d expect better. Some rotting wood a broken tile or two, door latches that were a bit past it. A few little gestures e.g. more convenient plug sockets and a fridge would have gone a long way.

The day of our departure it seemed that they couldn't wait for us to leave. We asked them for a shuttle to the bus stop and then the car was there a bit earlier and they stressed us that we have to get directly in the car, because they need the car later for something else. It was a weird feeling.

- Incredible food!! We had some of the best Thai food we've had at their restaurant. And the service from the staff was exceptional - We had a beautiful bungalow that had so much jungle character with vines all up the staircase - Great location on the river that's only a 5 minute walk from the main part of the village - Bed was very comfortable for staying in a wooden bungalow

- The shower wasn't the best but that's okay we made do - The monkeys are very cheeky. Make sure to keep the shutters closed or be on high alert when they're open

Generally friendly staff. Except for the first guy, that were arrogant when we remarked that they did not respond to messages or emails...

Ant nest in bathroom, lots of ants. Spiderweb and dust everywhere - obviously not cleaned before our arrival. Loud hippie-camp just across the river, started playing music 06:30 til late most days. The jungle houses are lined up with just a few meters between, and no soundproofing, so all sounds from other guests disturb you, and vice versa. Not dreamy and secluded like the pictures might show. Study google maps and you will see what we mean. Very hard bed.
