Melheim Beach Resort Kalpitiya - An Escape into Untouched Coastal Bliss

We spent a week relaxing at Melheim Beach Resort. The rooms were comfortable. I read that someone said they had cold showers here. If that happens just ask them to turn on the hot water heater. We did. The showers were very nice and hot. The Staff were very helpful. It was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed walks on the beach, swimming in the pool, and a day trip in a Tuk Tuk up the peninsula. The day trip included a tour of the Dutch Fort…it is amazing. A visit to the fishing boats. We saw the light house. Drove around the Puttalam Lagoon… it is beautiful and went to the Unusual Catholic Church called Saint Ann’s… interesting history involving a pirate. But mostly we loved the people who ran the resort. The Chef is a trained professional cook. We especially loved his fish and sea food but everything he made was wonderful. Ms. Maheshi, works the reception but does so much more. She is so sweet and wonderful. Mr. Attanayake, is the manager and works very hard to make each person feel welcomed. They truly focus on each person needs and doing everything to make their time at Melheim Beach Resort feel special. This was exactly what we needed.

Please do not expect to be able to swim in the ocean during June, July, and August. The wind is strong and water adds more paraphernalia up on the shore daily. Note: The resort is nicely protected from the sand and wind.

The location is quiet and away from the main road. It is right on the beach. A great place to chill. Staff very attentive. Food delicious

La chambre est très grande, propre et vue sur mer. Le petit déjeuner est vraiment fabuleux. Nous avons aussi pris un dîner et déjeuner bons, coût très correct.

Les bungalow sont au pied d’une éolienne 😭 il y a du bruit en permanence, quel dommage car l’endroit est éloigné de tout !
