The house is a prime example of New England shingle-clad coastal architecture. Inside, it's a charming space, with light flooding in through windows overlooking the ocean. Wood floors and a whitewashed color scheme give it a hint of seaside chic, with comfortable furniture and colorful accents and artwork.

There’s a private yard for eating outdoors on warm summer days, and a fire pit to sit around in the cooler evening air. Tie up your boat at the private dock, and use the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards for fun on the water.

You'll be staying across the street from Noman's - just a mile from downtown Oak Bluffs and four miles to downtown Edgartown. Take the bike path one mile to Oak Bluffs, you will find lots to do between the famous Flying Horses, MVCMA gingerbread cottages, Ocean Park, Back Door Donuts, the bowling alley, the Arts District and the game room. In the other direction on the bike path, you will go past the Jaws Bridge, and into Edgartown with its captains house, the Old Whaling Church, art galleries and shopping.

Back at the house, the large living room has a stone fireplace, the eat-in kitchen has an island with seating for 6, the dining room seats twelve of your friends and family, and the six bedrooms and a sleeping porch allow for many guests. There are four enclosed porches, two on the first floor, and two on the second floor. A large private yard provides plenty of space for outdoor activities. The house is a member of the Harthaven Association, which allows use of the association's private beach, harbor, and tennis court. Central A/C and heat will keep you comfortable in all types of New England weather.

LIVING AREA

Gather in the sunlit living area after a day enjoying the island! Two sofas by the wood-burning fireplace and three armchairs by the windows create inviting areas. Two indoor porches have additional seating areas. There is a Smart TV with cable, wifi, and lots of games.

The modern kitchen is well appointed with a commercial Wolf stove having 6 burners & a griddle, two ovens, a Bosch dishwasher, a Kitchen Aid refrigerator with ice maker, granite countertops, and windows overlooking the herb gardens. An island has seating for six.

Such a fantastic house and an excellent location. An easy mile stroll to Oak Bluffs or a flat, beautiful 4 mile bike ride to Edgartown. A meal and drink and Noman’s across the street could not be easier. The body of water at the back of the house is calm and perfect for kids of all ages to paddle and swim. We enjoyed watching the Osprey descend from their nest and hunt for fish. The deck was amazing for all meals. Indoor dining table large enough for our whole group as well.Loved the few minute walk to private beach just across the lagoon! The house itself is in great condition and perfect for a large group. Many rooms and beds. Plenty of room for our extended family of 11 (4 teens, parents, grandparents and cousins). The kitchen is very well stocked and had everything we could possibly need. Perfect for a lobster boil or lobster on the grill and paella on the open fire. The owner Julie was attentive, responsive and so helpful in helping us set up bike rentals and grocery delivery and all of our floor plan questions ahead of time (thank you so much!). For this west coast family, it was truly a wonderful place to experience a MV summer. We hope to return!

This was a repeat visit for us at this beautiful home. We stayed here with our teenage children who especially enjoyed kayaking and fishing right off the property. There was more than enough space for our family and so much to do on site. Can take a nice stroll up to Oak Bluffs or down to Jaws bridge. Sunrise over the ocean is beautiful in the morning as is the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach. Highly recommended! Hope to return again!

This historic beach house was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views and the charm of the home itself. Nestled on a private beach, the location felt peaceful and secluded — a true hidden gem.One of the unexpected joys of our stay was watching the osprey nest right across the water. Each day, we observed the chicks grow into fledglings — such a special and calming experience that brought us even closer to nature. The home was warm, comfortable, and perfect for entertaining family. We loved every minute and made memories we’ll treasure forever. It was truly hard to leave.

The home is a perfect setting for both active and relaxing times with family and friends. We loved the interior design of the home and the outside spaces were great for our family. The 6 & 7 year olds spent most of their “idle time” playing on and around the dock catching crabs and the teens enjoyed hanging on the very very close beach across the water. The location of the house was perfectly close to both OAK bluffs and Edgartown, which is where we spent most of our time. Thank you to the owners/hosts for a wonderful time and a very clean and well appointed home!
