About this house rental

Retreat to a 5 acre home site with 11 acres of adjacent forest of quiet, soaring eagles and deer visits. A walkabout nature trail through the woods circles the home site and pond. Dine and relax on your private romantic gazebo as you view the water. This modern style, original art-filled home was completed in 2012 . The house has a very large master with king bed and luxury bath and the upstairs guest room has 2 double beds with bath. The living room sofa sleeps one and there is a first floor powder room. Plenty of driveway to park a boat trailer. This home is fully equipped and accommodating for the best vacation experience. The 1st floor primary bedroom with king bed has a small deck and patio door. The walk-in Elfa furnished closet includes luggage rack. Wall mounted flat panel TV with Direct TV, ceiling fan, in room heat and AC control.

The usual minimum stay is 4 nights, but there are summer dates with a two night minimum when guest bookings leave open dates. Check the calendar for short visit options, or send an inquiry.

The detached garage has an apartment on the 2nd floor, occupied year round by a lovely couple who tend the flower gardens.

Fantastic, peaceful, serene place to call home while exploring the majestic San Juan Islands. The home itself is luxurious and well-appointed: playful art, great kitchen, and tons of natural light. The land is even better: one of those few places of true quiet where you can hear the flapping of a birds wings while you take in the wonderful forest surroundings. There is a forest walk created with care that I took many times to just listen and be present. A beautiful space to meditate and just be. Add to this the amazing place that is San Juan Island…a recipe for something special. Highly valuable. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Very nice property and area. We loved how close the home is to all the sites and attractions. Owner was very responsive to the minor smoke detector issue we had and it was quickly resolved. We would stay again!

I was there with my three teenage children, and we had a great time and the house was absolutely great. We were sitting in the back and a deer with giant antlers, just sauntered by through the backyard as we sat there.

Conveniently located about 15 minutes from Friday harbor and Kiln lighthouse. Very quiet and relaxing home. Host was very nice and helpful. House was stocked with lots of dishes, pots, seasonings, blankets, towels, etc. It was the prefect place for a vacation!

A great house, well stocked kitchen. Close to Friday Harbor but in a quiet woods. A very nice primary bathroom. The frogs sang us a chorus each night. The trash cans were a bit confusing but that’s minor. We had a wonderful time here.

This is a beautiful, well stocked home, not just a rental house. It’s quiet with birds, gardens, outdoor seating. We rarely saw any signs of the onsite manager and we felt our privacy was respected. It is about a 15 minute drive to any place on the island so it is a nice location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

the house was impeccably clean and loaded with all the basic necessities; a plethora of dishes, cooking utensils, great fridge and stove and we felt extremely comfortable. I think every neighborhood on San Juan island is excellent and we very much liked the "tucked-away" location. Communication with the owner was quick, timely and accurate. There were only two minor things I would suggest for the next resident: the directions to the house could be made more clear and 9 remote controls for the TVs (?). I know the local cable companies are challenging and the truth is we didn't watch TV at all but if the next guest wants to watch TV it is a challenge

We really enjoyed this peaceful property. The home was very clean and well stocked with games and puzzles. The kitchen had a lot of odds and ends (don't bring spices - they're pretty well stocked) that made eating in convenient. The walkabout was a lovely addition and we enjoyed the gazebo by the pond. It was nice to have space to unwind after exploring San Juan Island.

This home is perfectly situated in the middle of San Juan Island - 15-20 minutes' drive from all points of interest on the island. The setting is private, serene, and beautifully landscaped. The owner has lovingly appointed this home with attention to detail inside and outside and has entrusted her guests with stunning artworks and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is a dream with every conceivable item you could possibly want to prepare a culinary masterpiece. We purchased fresh mussels from Wescott Shellfish Farms (order/pay online in advance and pick up the next day - pay attention to their hours) and found everything we needed to cook several other meals throughout our four-night stay. Beds are comfortable, linens are luxurious. The owner provides valuable information about island access, activities, and other information to newcomers. Great communication via email and printed materials inside the home. We have stayed in various other VRBO units on the island but this one was our favorite - we will return time and again.

My kids and I stayed here for a short trip to San Juan. We could not have asked for anything better. The home is beautiful and comfortable. Everything you could need is provided. The forested setting, art, books and puzzles made me wish we could stay much longer. Staying here is a nice respite from the fun but commercial Friday Harbor. Highly recommend!

The property is beautiful with nice big ceilings. It's always nice to have a whole house to yourself and family. This is not however a good property for little ones. It is full of beautiful, breakable objects at their reaching level. The house is full of light and openess but the bedrooms do not have room darkening shades so if you are sensitive to light and want to sleep in on vacation, good luck. Having to drive 15-20 min to get into town can be a hassle too if you need to get anything at the store. The house is very clean and the owner really cares about the upkeep. She is very nice and easy to work with. Check in and out was super easy.

Jeanne’s home is beautifully and peacefully situated, and the interior is a perfect connection to the surroundings. Everything we could have wished for in our home away from home was available, and the kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we’ve had in a vacation rental. Everything was a delight, from the art-infused gravel path through the woods, to the very (very!) well-appointed kitchen, to the expansive bathroom with new fixtures, to the plentiful board games and nature books, to the comfy bed and fluffy towels. Such a relaxing, restorative few days. Love love love San Juan Island. Perfect. We were sad to leave, but perhaps returning to the "purple house in the woods" next year?!?

The house was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, clean and elegantly furnished. The grounds were immaculately kept with lovely plants and flowers. plants and flowers. The location was perfect. It was in the wooded area but very close to downtown Friday Harbor for restaurants shopping etc. My wife and I highly recommend it. The other couple we were with loved as much as we did.

Our family of 4 stayed in this house for a week in October. It was the vacation we could only dream of! The house is located in the middle of the island and it is very, very, very quite there. We are usually active travelers and try to see and do everything the place has to offer, but this time we enjoyed the house so much that we basically stayed inside for 4 days in a row. There is a little hike around the forest on the property and there is a surprise around every corner. The kitchen equipped better then mine. We loved every second in this house and hope to come back again.

These 5 acres, beautifully manicured with a walking trail around the perimeter... my children (aged 5 and 10) and I explored through the woods, playing in the trees and building with fallen sticks. Walking along the ponds edge purposefully to see the frogs jump into the water multiple times per day was a highlight! The beds were comfortable, and with each bedroom having its own attached bath, it made getting ready for our days' adventures a breeze. Additional highlights are 'south beach', 'lime kiln state park' and 'roche harbor' are not to be missed! Building fort after fort on the beaches with driftwood, while listening to the rolling waves... having snacks on the beach; we are dreaming when we can return! You must visit this lovely property!
