Hotel Villas de la Selva

We had adjoining apartments overlooking the ocean and the views were absolutely stunning. The apartments were far nicer in reality than they looked in the photos, which was a very pleasant surprise. William was knowledgeable and helpful whenever we needed anything.

The area the hotel is in isn't as authentic as I would have hoped because it caters to tourists; this is more of a critique of the area than the hotel itself.

Great view from balcony. Lovely pool. Walkable to great public beach and local bars/ restaurants - but alongside steep main road. Very small local supermarket walkable. 15 minute walk espadilla sur beach with surfing, loungers, lifeguard, restaurants and lots of wildlife.

Clean but basic. Some traffic noise. Manuel antonio is stretched out so long way to centre of town or larger supermarkets. Walk to beach does not have pavement/ sidewalk alongside main road.

We had the best view on our balcony of the ocean, cliffs over looking the ocean down about 7 blocks away from us!! Amazing views with hammocks on balcony. Monkeys visited us, we saw all sorts of birds even Mackaws flying by, amazing.

Turning on the water heater every time we arrived in the room, had to wait 15 minutes for hot water because they want you to turn off water heater when you leave room every time.

Location was good - Nice pool - WhatsApp communication with staff - nice view from balcony

Not as described as per booking.com description which said separate bedroom area and bathroom with bath, also expected pool view along with sea view - I expressed my dissatisfaction about the room, my reply was we had booked the “Study” in my opinion it was like a small shipping container, similar to student accommodation at University - was not value for money - unfortunately did not meet our expectations and was very disappointed - other accommodation booked was far more superior
