Forenom Serviced Apartments Oslo Vika

The apartment was clean. The sofa is a little worn out and there was a tear in the fabric. The bathroom was lovely and the shower was excellent. The instructions on how to access the apartment were very clear and it was easy for us to get in. Easy access to the town centre and the harbour.

We could not access the wifi on our last night. It was too late to contact the host. At night there was a lot of noise from passing pedestrians.

the dishwasher didn't work. We cooked a meal and couldn't wash up dishes. there was no hand dishwashjng detergent only dishwasher tablets but dishwasher didn't work. no shower gel or shampoo in bathroom. we couldn't use tv either as the chrome cast stick wouldn't connect to our phones. Could do with some blankets for beds

Door key system works well. Code worked from check in time and we had no problems using it, unlike other properties that use phone apps. The ability to get straight to the apartment without needing to make a key is good. The location is excellent and the apartment was clean and reasonably well equipped. Missing wine glasses were reported on arrival and the maintenance request was very swiftly acknowledged, though not delivered until the following day. There are nearly supermarkets and shops, and the Aker Brugge shops, restaurants, bars, and ferry services are very close. The Wifi was easy to use and good enough to stream videos to watch on the TV. Bedding was clean and of the expected quality. The rooms are reasonably spacious and comfortable. Having a kettle is good and not always present, as is a coffee maker. There were dishwasher tablets and washing up soap provided and dishcloths.

We were in Apartment 203. I have stayed in several similar properties in Oslo, and this one is fine, but not as good or cheap as many others. The photos did not include any of our apartment and those shown are similar but look a little nicer. The bathroom expecially looks a lot different to ours. This is based on one specific problem and several more general disappointments. The shower is the worst shower I have ever seen, and I cannot believe anyone would install it and think that is is acceptable - there is no way to adjust the angle of the spray because the bracket where the shower head connects has no adjustment, except to twist horizontally. It is impossible to make the water point downwards, except by removing it and holding it. This makes showering a difficult and disappointing experience. The shower area is also cramped but that's not too unusual. Other, more minor disappointments include a TV that doesn't allow you to watch TV (just stream via Chromecast, which kept cutting out and it took several guesses to work out which Chromecast connection was ours), no toiletries supplies (the first time I have had this in Oslo; I had to go and buy some); no tea/coffee (less of an issue; we had our own); a small sofa that was the only comfy seating and cramped enough for 3, impossible for 4; a dishwasher that was very hard to load the glasses into (perhaps why there was only one glass left); no tea towel, only kitchen roll which we guessed was to dry hand washed dishes with); very bare walls (the main decoration was behind the sofa, so you didn't see them!). Overall, nothing really worth reporting to maintenance or substantially bad. We still really enjoyed our stay, but I have enjoyed far better accommodation in similar location for similar price, so overall not as good as it could have been.
