We would not use this property again!

Big garden. Allowing our dog to stay. Ample crockery and cutlery. Instructions about finding the property were easy to understand. Plenty of parking.the

We found the outside stairs difficult. They were steep, had no handrail and, to us, were dangerous. We would not have used this property had we known this. Broken kitchen doors. Slippery shower floor.We had to drive to Moate to eat (the nearby restaurant was unavailable as it had a function. We had to cancel the second night and did this within the time specified by Booking.com. The owners denied us a refund. There was no welcome when we arrived.

Quiet relaxing place, for a few days R&R. Dog friendly

Really enjoyable few days. Dog friendly. Will recommend for the future.

Towels - very small bath towel for each person. Could have been bigger and better quality. No hand towel. As there was no way to open a window, it was not easy to dry the towels. For 4 nights / 5 days, suggest a change of towels.

The bed was confortable. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The bathroom is also spacious. Our hosts were very friendly and ready to help.

A peaceful hideaway in the heart of Ireland

The location was great for exploring Westmeath and surrounding areas. The hosts were wonderful and so helpful, and their dog is lovely and friendly. The kitchen has pretty much everything you'd need, and having a washing machine was a real bonus.

There was nothing we didn't like! However, the decor does feel unfinished, but perhaps that was the vibe they're going for. It was unusually warm when we stayed, so we opened the skylights, which are great, but there was a lot of detritus on them from the wonderful trees above, which obscured the view a bit, and came in when the wind blew.

Lovely, relaxing stay

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely comfy bed. Great shower. And though some of the utensils could do with updating, the kitchenette had everything we needed and we were able to cook multiple quality meals. There's a great pub less than ten minutes walk away which had good food, drink, trad music and welcoming locals. Moate village is five mins drive and Athlone 15-20. Plenty of dog friendly cafes and walks in the vicinity.

Just a warning if you're short, the single high dining table and chairs were difficult to use (my wife is under 5 foot)

The perfect retreat.

The host was friendly, the location was great, and the accommodation was clean and comfy. The view was absolutely unbelievable; so beautiful and peaceful setting.

The narrow and bendy rural roads, but honestly if you’re not in a rush, it’s actually an enjoyable drive!

Location is is in the country side. Quiet and peaceful. A lovely spot if you want a place away from hustle and bustle. Very relaxing.

Perfect for dog lovers

Bed was fantastic- my days can become very painful and the bed was really great at building me back for the next day. Good shower room though a hand towel as well as a bath towel would have been nice. Great fridge and hot water for washing up. The two dogs were friendly and respectful- no jumping up just tail wagging and showing you to your door. The dogs were very amiable with other guests’ dogs. Gary was very friendly when we eventually met.

Kitchen kit was well used. Limited sockets in kitchen area but that may be to avoid tripping the system - it was just a bit faffy switching things around. We arrived to a key in the door and a welcome from the dogs - it felt a little like beauty and the beast with butler Mr Dog and housekeeper Mrs Dog. The toilet seat was inclined to fall when a gentleman was being a gentleman.

We'll be back

This was our 1st pet friendly stay cation.. and it definitely won't be our last...The Village B&B was the perfect location for touring & visiting around this area.The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable...a few little quirky things made it unique...The hosts pet dog Oscar made himself at home with us and our dogs..And the nearby pub is a must visit for Guinness & Steak sandwich

Beautiful place with many small details

We had a last minute booking, but the host happily accommodated us. Easy to find, just put on Google maps. Super comfy bed and great cooking facilities! Excellent communications with the owner . Doggies are super friendly ! :)

Even though shower being new, we couldn't quite figure out the temperature and the pressure wasn't super strong, but absolutely fine for a night

Short stay. Would have very negative opinion.

Cooking facilities were poor. Had cereal and toast with tea. Noise from guests on floor above lasted until after midnight. Lighting was poor from a reading point of view. Generally we would have been disappointed and decided to forego our stay on the Sunday night. Decided to go home due to our unhappiness with the facility.

The bed was the best part of the set up. The lights in the room poor. Kitchen facilities poor. The shower was not functioning properly with the water temperature changing up and down when my wife had a shower. I decided to avoid having a shower. Generally very disappointed and would not recommend. Poor value for money

Exceptional

Recommended to everyone, relax in the middle of Co. Westmeath, near to Athlone and other villages/towns. Lovely family, very social, helpful in all aspects, the pets are gorgeous and very friendly. Really recommend it and will visit them again.

Absolutely loft stay!

cozy little loft with everything you need. The space has a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere and it’s in a charming village. Gael even offered to pick us up wine when mentioned that we were without. It was honestly a bonus to meet the two dogs Oscar and Zoey, they were adorable! For those working remotely the WiFi has download and upload speeds of over 60mbps.

It’s not near anything, the local grocer is very limited, no wine/beer and is cash only. There is restaurant but it was closed. so if you are cycle touring please please please bring your food. It didn’t even occur to me to check that the restaurant would be open...we ended up at the golf course getting cash back from that lovely man Michael.

Lovely dog called Oscar very very friendly,the location was a bit remote considering it was called the Village B&B. Not really what I wanted but fine nonetheless. Clean but basic,but no TV was a big disappointment.

Comfortable and made to feel as if nothing was too much trouble.

I like the fact that it was exceptionally clean and that when I had a problem getting in to the apartment when I lost the key. There was no fuss and it was sorted very nicely. The lad at the apartment was a credit to the organisers. Lovely people and lovely place.

The bookings.com genius awards free continental breakfast was a lovely bonus. Everything was perfect and very enjoyable. A gem

A lovely quiet place and suited our group as we were cycling and able to park at the property. Because the weather was so good we ate all out meals in the grounds. The couple were very friendly and very welcoming and nothing was of to them. Lovely quite gardens.
