Marina's House

The house we stayed in exceeded my expectations. Incredible view from two terraces, excellent hosts Victoria and Nikos with their daughters, hardworking people from Paxos.

We loved the perfect view and warm but breezy terrace with insane views where we spent many long, slow mornings and evenings. The house is very traditional, charming and welcoming Mediterranean style and fits perfectly for slow travel with a young family. The walk down to the taverna's below is easy enough with a large staircase 5 mins down the road. There is a slope up to the house but the position and vibe is well worth the walk.

Lighting could be softer, many bulbs were harsh white light instead of a warm glow you might expect.

The house was clean and well equipped. We walked from the port, about 15 minutes - uphill! Supermarket, bakery and lots of fabulous bars and restaurants are a short walk away. Nikos was really helpful showing us around. The view from the balcony is amazing. Wish we’d stayed longer but we hope to be back!

The terrace is great with stunning views over the bay and with tables and comfy furniture. Location near Gaios town and port, is very handy. Mosquitonets are impeccable so much appreciated and allows great flow of air on a summer's day.

Generally speaking, too many things are in decrepitude particularly storage cabinets/wardrobes (smelly), kitchenware and the oven that does not work properly (the fuses blow if you use it although proprietor said it is when you put on "the grill"). The beds/pillows are however clean and updated. Unclarity regarding warm water for the shower - proprietor not helpful and clear to make sure we had enough. In short - it is expensive for what it is - and the interiors need an update to make its worth. An accommodation of this bed capacity/at this cost should have a washing machine.
