The hotel is located in a nice piece of rainforest near lake peten. Monkeys, hummingbirds, toucans, amphibians are plentiful. Lake amenities like paddle boards, kayaks are nice. The restaurant serves local dishes with niche ingredients. The hotel is always welcome to accommodate any requests/ activities (at steep prices!!)

The hotel’s remote location seems to give the owners an opportunity to charge very high prices for activities and transfers. If you are staying here without a car, you are essentially left with little choice but to accept their terms, as alternative tour operators are generally unable to pick you up from such a remote location. We arrived independently using an external taxi, as the hotel’s transfer service was around four times more expensive than arranging our own transportation. Upon arrival, the hotel staff appeared quite unwelcoming and somewhat hostile toward the taxi driver, supposedly for security reasons. While security is understandable, the way this was handled felt more intimidating than reassuring, and gave the impression that guests were being discouraged from using outside services in favor of the hotel’s considerably more expensive options. Overall, the remote location is something to be aware of, particularly if you do not have your own transportation. The limited alternatives can leave guests feeling that they have little choice but to use the hotel’s services, regardless of the price.

Amazing spot to relax on the lake. The vibe of the hotel is extremely relaxing. The hotel offers plenty of activities. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms have an outdoor patios where you can relax.

Everything. This place was incredible. We especially loved diving into lake from the dock!

Spotless. Wonderful friendly attentive staff. Facilities by the lake were great. Peaceful. Some cabins had great views but most don’t.

Hidden costs - not exactly hidden but there’s about 25% tax added to the stay, occasionally a 10% surplus on drinks. I was looking forward to the wine list but there was only one red wine available which was a very average Chilean Malbec. Food off the grill amazing, everything else quite ordinary. No real option except to eat at the resort. We stayed four nights. Had a few drinks before dinner. Ate no lunch and had a bottle of wine with dinner. With transfers from the airport and an afternoon in Tikal came to $2300
