The loft was gorgeous and had floor to ceiling windows with a perfect view of the volcano. Online communication was good!

The menu was very limited and dinner was slow paced, but that may have been out of their control due to a city power outage and having to run on generators. They did a great job communicating and the weather was nice so we weren’t impacted greatly by the power outage.

The location is peaceful and very easy to get Lancha to and from! You just stand on the jetty and flag them down.

I would not stay at the Atitlan Studio room again. The resort itself is ok but the room we stayed in really wasn’t worth the money and needs urgent repairs. Firstly the room - although it was clearly clean, there are so many gaps and holes in the walls, ceiling and doors that we had countless bugs, spiders and even a scorpion. If you don’t mind that then it’s ok. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and small for 2 people - so bad that we actually ended up leaving a night early. I get the impression that this room has been very neglected, with the attention and care put into the other rooms. I would stay at this property again but would absolutely not stay at the studio again. There are old, mouldy and dusty grates through the kitchen and bathroom (pictures attached). No aircon and only a small fan. Also, on the door there is a sign saying “we are doing renovations next door thank you for understanding” but this was not told to us when booking and I can imagine it gets loud sometimes- this needs to be clearer for people booking. The resort itself is ok but very limited in space and things to do. There is no pool and the spa is very very small. They have one kayak but it was in good condition. The restaurant is extremely limited in choice and is very expensive. If you are happy to eat the same thing most days or you are only eating once or twice it’s fine. However, at night there are so many bugs around the restaurant that we found it hard to enjoy it. Overall, the room we had was hugely disappointing and really management need to focus on fixing it up asap. The other rooms look much nicer and I would recommend booking one of those.
