About this house rental
When you walk through the barn doors, you feel like you've stepped into the adventurous West. There are several paintings and prints on the wall of local artists and several western books for you to peruse. Come and enjoy the allure of the West at our casita located in the barn beside our home.
The Casita is new construction and full of modern amenities.
Amenities include:
-Central A/C and heat
-Full handicap accessibility (including a roll in shower)
-Parking on site for 2 vehicles
-Master bedroom with 1 king bed and closet
-Bunk room with 4 twin beds and closet
-WiFi
-Bluetooth speaker
-TV equipped with local channels and Google TV
-Electric fireplace
-Private yard with outdoor fire pit
Kitchen features:
-Stove
-Oven
-Refrigerator
-Sink
-Coffeemaker and coffee
-General cookware and bakeware
-Dinnerware (enough for 8 guests)
-Basic spices and condiments for meals

-Weber charcoal grill

The gathering room is large with a seating area, dining table, and kitchen with island. It is adorned with decorations that give you a true taste of West Texas. The bathroom is large and beautifully decorated with Mexican tile, an antique door and bench for dressing. The bathroom has a spacious walk in shower, but a bathtub is not included.
Our Casita is in a quiet, family neighborhood built on the top of the canyon in Canyon Country Club. For this reason, we ask that you keep noise level low, especially after 10 p.m. The canyon is home to a lot of wildlife including deer, turkey, owls and much more. We are 5 minutes from West Texas A&M University (and welcome family of the students), and the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum (the largest in Texas). Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the United States and has many hiking and mountain biking trails for the outdoor enthusiast, and it’s just a quick 20 minute drive from our place. The musical, TEXAS, is also at Palo Duro Canyon and runs from June to August. The square in Canyon is only minutes away and has several fantastic restaurants such as, Sayakomarn’s, Joe Taco, and the Rockin’ Zebra Soda Shoppe. Feldman's, Green Chile Willy's, and Bears Burgers and Dawgs are also near. We are also 20 minutes from Amarillo which has lots more restaurants like the well-known Big Texan, and activities like Amarillo Art Museum, Symphony, and Ballet, the historic Route 66, the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum, Wonderland, Cadillac Ranch and the new SodPoodles AAA baseball team.
We have a tandem bicycle upon request. We want you to enjoy your time here, capture the sunsets and sunrises, relax and spend some time in the Panhandle.

The stay was very nice. Things I would fix would be TOWELS were soooo old. Shower curtain so bad, we bought a new one to use. Left old one to wash. Also leaving just a tiny bit of soap for hands and dishes makes the place feel cheap. Fill them up!! Lastly, I wonder how well the cleaning person cleans because there was a HANGING TOWEL in the kids bedroom when we arrive. We just left it there. So I would maybe replace the cleaning crew. Other then those things, meeting the home owner and Sadie were great. Nice family. We would stay again if ever in TX ...

This property is amazing! My dream home! The host was amazing and let us know he was there if we needed anything. The property was very clean and comfortable! Definitely recommend!

The casita is exactly as advertised. It is in a lovely little neighborhood but in the country-5 deer smiling at us close to the driveway as we arrived home last night. It’s cozy, clean, and welcoming. The couple of little questions we had when we checked in were immediately answered by the hosts. If you’re n the area, this is the place to stay.
