Host met us as we arrived. He was extremely nice and walked us through the property and then asked what we wanted to do and see in the area. He then gave us a very good summary of things to do and places to eat. The property was very well maintained and very nice. Bed was super comfortable. Very spacious place near the ocean. Highly recommend this property.

Very well kept, compact unit with thoughtful design and inside amenities. Great communication with the host, Bob, who is a member of the historical society and who gave us good tips and recommendations on local sites and beaches of interest. Proximity to these areas as well as convenient shops and restaurants is also very good. The only thing that would give this a perfect score is if it were right on the water. Otherwise, it is still close to the nearby boardwalk on the waterfront and other nature trails that can be easily accessed by walking or driving.

There's a reason this place has such superlative reviews - it is an absolute gem. The accommodation, layout, cleanliness, comfort,and location are all first-rate, plus a secure place to store bicycles! But the real reason it's special is the host. Bob is the essence of generosity who went above and beyond in so many ways. We also benefitted from the kindness of his daughter who clearly shares Bob's generous spirit. We were able to bike to the Sooke Potholes, walk to restaurants, and kayak in the Basin, with advice and assistance from our hosts that ensureed our stay was memorable and magical. If we return to Sooke i can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you so much Bob, Caroline, and Katie!

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charm and thoughtful touches of this incredible property.The house itself is a pristine oasis—immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail has been considered, from the cozy furnishings to the well-appointed spaces. I especially loved sipping coffee on the deck with the stunning ocean views each morning. It truly felt like a home away from home, but with all the added luxuries of a dream vacation.The location in Sooke is simply ideal. I spent my days exploring the breathtaking coastline, hiking the nearby trails, and soaking in the peaceful West Coast atmosphere. Returning to such a welcoming and serene retreat each evening was the perfect end to my adventures.Finally, Bob, the host, was absolutely wonderful—responsive, helpful, and clearly dedicated to ensuring I had the most incredible stay. His recommendations for local dining and activities were spot on and greatly enhanced my trip.I cannot recommend this VRBO in Sooke highly enough. I was in town for a family wedding at the Prestige so the location was perfect, which was why I selected it. I was met by Bob and his 4 legged welcoming committee. He showed me a few details about the unit and advised me he'd be around if I needed anything. The wedding events didn't allow much time for me to be in the unit which is unfortunate. This space is so beautifully decorated, comfortable and peaceful. The kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need (maybe not a blender but I didn't open every cupboard). It was so quiet at night I had the best sleep in ages!! Was able to take time for a walk at Whiffin Spit (10 minute drive away) which was also perfect for the soul. Thanks for a perfect retreat, Bob and Caroline!

The communication with the hosts in the period between booking and arrival was clear and supportive! Upon arrival we were met by Bob who from the very beginning was very helpfull, informative. The suite is very neat and comfortable. It contains really everything you might need for even a longer stay. Caroll (who was travelling) decorated the place in a modern and stylish way. Bob is an inexhaustable source of information about the location, its environment and 'things' of interest to explore. Unfortunately our stay was too short to explore them all. In short: We highly recommend this Vrbo and its hosts! Thank you Bob & Caroll for making our stay a good start of our holiday on Vancouver Island!!!

The two of us (70+) were in Sooke for 3 nights to visit family and ride the Galloping Goose Rail Trail. The floor plan of the Ocean View Suite is so thoughtfully laid out, with good lighting and calming colours. Furnishings and decor had easy-to-clean, simple lines. Everything had a function while creating an artistic space. The spaces do have some transitional, small step ups to be aware of. The Ocean View Suite is in a quiet, safe area of Sooke within walking distance of restaurants and Ed Macgregor Park, good for an evening pier walk near the ocean. Bob is an outdoor person, readily available when needed, very knowledgeable about the region, happy to share his inside info.

What a fabulous place to stay. It was so comfortable and well designed. All the household items you need are there for your use which was great for making meals. The area is so quiet and the deck space with ocean view was a bonus. I enjoyed the short walk to the village and to the ocean boardwalk. Caroline and Bob are very good hosts and reply to messages promptly. I was greeted by the host on my arrival and appreciated being oriented to the unit. I will definitely be returning to stay at this beautifully appointed vrbo. Thank you.

The location was stunning, visited by deer, squirrels rabbits. Views of the Harbour and east sooke across the basin. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and it was a pleasure to be hosted by them. The accommodation was above 5 star and I highly recommend it. I will be definitely visiting again.
