So much fun. Some goat, chicken, duck or sheep is always doing something funny. You can just sit and watch, or get right in the mix. Just constant entertainment, especially for the kids (8 and 9). Very pleasant hosts. House was comfortable, functional and loaded with games to play if it's raining.

This was a fantastic place to make our home away from home as we explored all around Sooke and up to Port Renfrew.Cozy but had all the necessities to make it practical and a welcome retreat after a big day of adventures. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house it well laid out, and feels like a home. All amenities are available in the kitchen. The hosts are lovely, and have a sweet farm with goats and chickens. It is a good location for driving to the many gorgeous beaches. Our favourites were: Botanical Beach, and Mystic Beach.

We spent a few days of Spring Break at Diamond Cottage with our two teenage kids and had a pleasant, stress-free stay. The kids love animals and there are chickens, roosters, sheep and goats at this cute little getaway spot. The kids loved interacting with the animals and it was so lovely of the hosts to invite us to gather some freshly laid eggs for our breakfast. We enjoyed them fried up over-easy with avocado on buttered toast, so be sure to bring bread and butter with you! There is a lovely beach for shell-seeking and rock-hounding at Muir Creek Beach just a short drive, (less than a minute) away, and a manageable walk even for someone with bad knees such as myself. Would certainly recommend this property to animal lovers

Thanks for a great stay. The cottage is very cozy inside, with everything needed and more! All the amenities (washer/dryer, dishwasher) were appreciated. Lovely decor and comfy beds! We were 2 adults/2 teens and we all enjoyed the fresh eggs, chickens and goats. It's a little close to the highway if you are a light sleeper (not a busy road after dark), and while you can walk to the beach, the walk is along the narrow highway. Note that there is no TV and a lot of games, which for us was great. Owners are very fast to respond, and very helpful. Overall it was a good location for us and a pleasant stay, thank you!

Easy to get to on the West Coast highway. Clean and bright with three comfortable beds. The windows look right out onto the goat and chicken pens which makes for some fun viewing. The only thing I would suggest is to have some lamps in the living room since the overhead lights are a bit too bright.

Beautiful quaint cottage amongst trees with chickens and goats for fun entertainment. The owners were friendly and delightful, warm and welcoming. I would prefer a bit further from highway noise and for signage at road to be larger/more clear as finding the small entrance was challenging especially at night. We loved the humour within the cabin. Our pets were welcomed. We would definitely stay again..close to several eateries, the beach and scenery that is spectacular, plus business people and folks in Sooke that are also friendly! We came for a TICA cat show and truly enjoyed ourselves.

Diamond cottage is the ideal location for day trips/hiking! There are lots of beaches and hiking trails within a short distance! The cottage itself is supplied with anything you would ever need and the ability to communicate with the property manager is quick and easy if needed! Extremely friendly and willing to offer information about the area! It was close enough to Victoria to have family who lives there visit. We are all animal lovers, so it was great to have a dog friendly environment and the ability to visit with chickens, ducks, sheep and goats was a plus.

Excellent location to discover the coast from Sooke to Port Renfrew. The house is directly on Route 14, near the coast (10 min walk along the Route to the next beach). We loved the goats, cheeps and other animals on the property! Thanks to Marie and Mark for being such lovely hosts!

We stayed at Diamond Cottage for three nights for my brother’s wedding nearby at French Beach Provincial Park. Marc and Marie were very friendly and welcoming and were happy to let our kids interact with their barnyard animals. We so appreciated being able to host a dinner at the cottage with some family and friends. The house was very clean and there were plenty of kitchen items and extra towels etc. We will definitely stay here again!

Mark was a lovely host and the animals are great fun. The location between Sooke and the array of beaches can’t be beat. However, we found the house in need a deep clean. All the windows inside were dirty and a bit moldy. The couch was old and worn and you sink in as soon as you sit. The exterior needed a wash down - cobwebs, dirt, mold. ( I also live on a PNW island in the forest, so I’m no stranger to all that comes with that. I wouldn’t rent my place without frequently cleaning and maintaining inside and outside.)

There are just no words that could adequately capture what a wonderful time we had. Everything was just perfect for our holiday with our grandchildren. The mini farm was such a hit and Mark and Marie were the best hosts we ever had. So friendly. So accommodating. We would definitely book this again. Our grandchildren were sad to leave. We wanted a quick vacation close to home and this fit the bill. We had recently adopted a new bunny after our old bunny past away and we needed to bond him with our other bunny on neutral territory. Mark was very accommodating about letting our bunnies stay with us. There is a full kitchen to use which we appreciated. It stayed nice and cool in the house even though it was in the mid to upper 20's while we were there. The goats were great and Rocky the Rooster and his hen friend Ginger made us laugh.

It had everything we need and then some with the yard games and board games available. It’s fun having goats in the backyard to check out. It feels isolated enough but you’re not too far from a grocery store or restaurant (Shirley Delicious, yum). I would stay here again if I visit the area.
