Riad Essaada

Our first experience in Marrakech, and we absolutely loved it! First of all, we were welcomed at the reception with traditional Moroccan mint tea, which was such a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. The riad is located in the narrow streets of the medina, where cars cannot reach, so you have to walk for about five minutes through the small alleyways. However, they are clean and feel very safe, especially as the Royal Palace is nearby. I was travelling with my 14-year-old daughter, and we arrived at almost midnight, but we felt completely safe walking there. In fact, so far, Morocco has felt very safe to us, but this particular area was especially clean and peaceful. The narrow streets also added a wonderful sense of authenticity to the experience, and we really enjoyed them. The riad is very well located, close to the Medina, with shops nearby that are open 24/7. We had to leave early in the morning for an excursion, so unfortunately we didn't have a chance to try the breakfast. But we were pleasantly surprised to see that the area was already lively in the morning, with people out and shops open, and we could easily grab a coffee nearby. Everything is within walking distance, which is very convenient. The riad itself was lovely — clean, welcoming and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and everything was just great. We have nothing but good things to say and would definitely recommend this place!

Very beautiful riad and very quiet for being in the middle of the Medina. Nice staff. Big room. We had to leave early morning, and the packed us some breakfast to go.

Bathroom smelled bad and the drain of the shower was not working well so the whole bathroom was wet when showering. Windows don’t close so you do hear cats and mosque very well in the night but no noise from the street.

The property was nice and clean. It had all the amenities that were needed. The location was perfect, it was near the market square, 5-7 minutes walking distance. It was quiet and peaceful. The area was safe with CCTV cameras on the street. Everything was nearby.

Everything was good. There was nothing to not to like.

Good location. Comfy bed. Nice interior design. Felt safe. Staff were friendly. Lovely rooftop.

No WiFi or service in the bathroom or bed. Only worked in a specific 1 metre area. Unworkable shower, no pressure and temperature fluctuated massively. Encouraged us to get our hair washed professionally as we felt we couldn’t clean it at this riad. No clean towels or water given. ‘Outdoor swimming pool’ was not a swimming pool, more of a water feature with a handful of bugs swimming around. Only excepts cash so if you haven’t paid online, you will need to visit an ATM. Unsure if majority of these problems was due to our room specifically or the riad as a whole. Seemed to be better wifi/service on the rooftop.
