The location is relay great ! Really close to the ferry terminal, which is nice to take a ferry to Yakushima

Close everything tho a big road beside though it didnt bother sleeping at all. Nice rooftop at night and overall clean place.
A bit too humid and hot inside so airconditioner would be nice.

The location was within an easy walk to a convenience store and the ferry dock to Yakushima, which was our main reason for staying here. It was also within walking distance (about 20 minutes) to the ferry that goes to Sakurajima, which we also visited. The price was definitely good and the guy at the front desk (manager/owner?) was friendly and spoke some English. We were able to get a private room, which I think was a good decision. Things seemed pretty clean. The roof top lounge area looked nice.
This property is old and a bit worn, but it is a hostel so this is expected. There was a small lounge in the reception area and a rooftop lounge. However, when we were there, we only saw a couple of people and, that night at least, there wasn't a social vibe. The sink in the hallway for brushing teeth (the area with the private rooms) was a bit weird, but clean enough. Toilet and shower rooms were private.
