Kikunoya

The staff were all friendly and accomodating. A thoughtful note was left by the staff when I checked in with a delicious snack. The room was a traditional japanese room with tatami mats and futon. The facility has an onsen and foot bath that can be used by the guests. They also provide a shuttle service to and from the ferry port to which is convinient for guests with luggages.

Kikunoya was a delightful and peaceful experience - onsen, lovely staff, great location. Staying over enabled our first taste of sleeping Japanese style and we were able to explore the island early in the day before the ferries arrived.

We had a nice view of the Miyajima gate from our room. Luggage pick up service from the ferry pier was really nice and efficient.

We booked expecting a western style room with beds for our family of 3 but were given a Japanese tatami room with futons. It was a little challenging for the older people in our party to get up off from the floor. Hotel is dated but well maintained.

Clean decent sized room. Comfortable bed and very nice and big onsen. Free ice cream, beer, and soda. Free shuttle from train station. There is a McDonald's right next to it if you have to wait for check in with free wifi. Also a 7 eleven. Ocean view rooms if you pay for it. Otherwise get crazy road noise and train noise.

In the middle of nowhere and 20 min walk from closest train station. Although they have a shuttle, it won't run when there is a festival. Check in is strictly at 3pm even though check out time is at 10am. I arrived just before 12 noon not knowing there is a shuttle. Can I use the gym? There is no gym. Can I use the pool? There is no pool. Can I use the onsen? Only after 3pm. So I sun bathed topless (I am a dude) on the grass for 2 hours not knowing if that is even legal or tolerated in Japan. Thanks for telling me that there is a free bike rental. It was perfectly set up that there is no shuttle back to the train station between 12-3pm.
