The room was very clean and comfortable. Although there were several private events at the palace, it felt like we had the entire palace to ourselves. The food and the ambiance were wonderful & the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The palace is very big so some part of it are not regularly in use like the "cave" which would have served well as a music bar/salon. Would love to see those areas being available again on a regular basis.

The location in outstanding. It is a unique opportunity to experience an old oriental palace with a nice pool and decent food.
It’s a tourist trap. We booked 2 rooms on booking.com as we always do, but when we arrived to the hotel after a 2 hours drive from Beirut, they said we can only pay cash. It was a big sum to carry around, so we insisted to pay by credit card. It’s from our Dubai account, and a card we have been using to pay our hotel stays everywhere in the world. They said that we either had to return with cash money or use their machine that will cost us 6% on every room. It’s not the taxes, it’s not a regular thing that is happening in Lebanon due to the financial collapse of the banking system. It’s simply a scam. People can’t return to Beirut to get cash, so they probably accept as we did. Se we had no choice but to pay 34$ that were never mentioned on booking.com or elsewhere. We were furious, but decided to enjoy the location to avoid spoiling our stay.
