the location, room, everything is clean, the welness and spa facilities, everything is great

I do not like the pillows but I usually don’t like the pillows at any hotel. Besides the pillow, the room would be perfect having a coffee machine (i.e., Nespresso) and something to boil water, which is only available at the shared living room of the 1st floor

Great place!

Everything. It’s a very nice place in a beautiful location. The hotel itself is lovely, the room was a great size, and the spa was really nice. We also loved the kids’ playroom — such a great touch for families with little ones. Overall, it offers excellent value for families and we felt very comfortable during our stay.

Honestly, everything was great. We were aware that the hotel is a bit further from the centre, but the only small downside was walking back in the evening — the GPS directs you along the main road, which isn’t very pleasant when dark. During the day it’s absolutely fine, and this was just a very minor point. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Wonderful place

Amazing stay at Alpenresort Eienwäldli. Every staff member was kind, generous, and professional. The room was clean, quiet, and had a beautiful view of the snow-covered mountains, the same stunning views you get from the spa and pool. The breakfast was excellent, and the whole ambience felt warm and cozy, like a peaceful mountain prairie. Overall, the perfect place to relax and release stress. I will definitely come back!

Nice place for a family with young kids. Close to all gondolas and lifts in and around Engelberg

The room was spacious enough for 2 adults and one kid with an extra bed, and it was very clean. We initially were unsure about the hotel and the camping ground being together because of the noise, but everyone respected the quiet hours and after 9-ish, it was silent. The playground and pool made it special for the kids for sure. Breakfast was good with plenty of fresh fruit selection, which was a bonus for us. Though, there was no warm options, but that was not a problem for us. Breads were very fresh.

Very comfortable stay

The hotel is located in a nice area. There is a hiking trail to Trübsee that starts right at the hotel. The hotel team is very friendly. There is a grocery shop in the hotel that works till 9:30pm, a small one, but there are enough options there. Overall, nice facilities. I want to personally thank the hotel team that agreed to refund my non-refundable booking, because I got sick and had to change the date of arrival.

The service/staff was exceptional! It was cool that there were two restaurants that belonged to the hotel.

The pool was too cold and the sauna-area was textilfree…which we weren‘t comfortable with.

Great hotel in a super location, with helpful friendly staff

Nice location, a bit away from the village. Nice spa area. Good breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. Tea making facilities available at all times. Nice restaurant for dinner.

Our room was overlooking the camping, just above the terrace of the bar, with very limited view. In the summer, I recommend selecting a room on North Side, with much nicer views. Shame there was no kettle or coffee machine in the room. The pool is indoor, and the pool area is extremely hot. Probably nice in the winter, but not in the summer. There is no nice outdoor resting area at the spa nor at the indoor pool.

The breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and all very fresh. Friendly staff. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Shop is convenient. Nice pool area. Hotel is in an excellent location for visiting surrounding areas.

We were surprised and disappointed to be charged 5 Swiss Francs for a jug of tap water in the restaurant!

5 star service. We were so impressed with our stay that we immediately booked again for another stay. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Well done to all of the team in the hotel.

The turnstiles to enter the pool, especially the entrance at the rear of the pool, were difficult to use and dangerous for our 4 and 6 year old kids. Our 4 year old became stuck in one and it was very scary, she could have been quite seriously hurt. I think there should be a better , safer way to manage access for small children.

Excellent pool, poor food

The only disappointment was the restaurant inside the hotel. Only pizza and pasta, nothing more. Nothing warm at the breakfast, even boiled eggs were cold. But home made Bircher muesli was delicious. Amazing pool, best place for children. The most warm pool I ever met in Switzerland, wow! Lots of fun inside pool: wirpool, slide, rain cave, even solarium! Very good big playground near the hotel. Amazing path for walking and bicycles along the river. Th weather was bad, but we really enjoyed staying there. Views were also gorgeous!

please don't forget to wash the floor under the bed.

Excellent for a 2-3 day family stay with small children.

I liked the swimming facilities, room, breakfast and staff helpfulness. Also the outdoors playground and the indoors play room.

Good hotel with clever things like quiet doors etc., but the misinformation on Booking.com and Hotel’s official web site regarding the shuttles to the ski lifts can destroy your vacation, if you’ve counted on this private delivery to the ski lifts (especially now when you’re definitely have to avoid public transport / ski buses). Be careful as the hotel is located 2,5 km from the ski lifts. The overall impression from the facility is still good, views are much better than in town.

As said above, the wrong information regarding availability of shuttles to ski lifts is crucial. Also, not every staff member is equally friendly (some people are very welcoming, the others though are rather not competent and therefore not always can provide better assistance).
