About this apartment rental

The newly built 3-family house, which was completed in May 2016, is located at 1000m altitude in one of the most beautifully situated regions in the southern Black Forest, in the middle of the idyllic Hofsgrund, with a view of the local mountain Schauinsland. Our new and lovingly furnished apartment with 115sqm and a large balcony for "just switching off" in the sunset offers the ideal opportunity as a starting point for wonderful hikes, bike tours and productive leisure trips (Steinwasenpark 5 minutes away) with a bus stop right outside the front door. The bakery, inn, shop, children's playground, Dobelsee, winter sports shop and local ski lifts are all nearby. For animal lovers, we have our small farm with suckler cow, horses and 2 cats in the back yard of the large area, which invite you to relax in the countryside and make your eyes sparkle. City trips are not neglected either, because our well-known, multifaceted city of Freiburg can be reached in just 25 minutes and brings the ideal change with a shopping tour, museum day or city tour. The Europapark in Rust, Strassbourg and Basel are also in the immediate vicinity.
Regarding the restaurant situation, we have a restaurant with a terrace 50m from our house. As well as 3 other inns, which can be reached within 5 minutes by car.

We had a lovely time visiting the Black Forest from the UK. The apartment is spacious and very clean with everything you need. The area is great for walking and visiting the beautiful Freiburg. The town is cute and quiet.The apartment is close to a road that is usually quiet but does have a bus route and the occasional lorry. There are a few additional charges that I assumed were included in the price (internet, bedding, cleaning), so read the additional documents sent by the host.

The apartment was comfortable for our family (6 person), the equipment was adequate, the hosts were very nice. The places we visited were easily accessible, in several cases we used the Konus-card (public transport) provided with the accommodation.

We spent a magical Thanksgiving holiday here. The home is very clean and comfortable. There is plenty of space for large families or a big group of friends. The location is in a beautiful part of the Black Forest with stunning views, hiking trails and outdoor activities close by. Stefanie and Dominik are wonderful hosts and kept great communication. We hope to get the chance to come back here again soon!

We had a fabulous, relaxing stay. The apartment was wonderful and surrounding area delightful! We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant next door and enjoyed our daily coffee and fresh bread from the bakery. A perfect home base to explore the Black Forest.

Really nice stay at this apartment- we are a family of 4 from England. Lots of space and good restaurant and bakery in the village. Very clean apartment and everything we needed. Spent a lot of time at driesambad swimming pool kn kirchzarten and had a couple of days out in schlussee lake. Also went to Hirschgrund zipwire which was great.

A lovely apartment in a great location to see the Black Forest. Hoffsgrund is nice, great play area for younger kids, nice bakery 5 min walk up the hill for essentials and nice fresh baked goods and a small alpine lake 5 mins walk down the hill to swim in. While the village is quiet generally there can be some road noise from the odd vehicle and the village church does like to ring its bells but you get used to both quickly. Stefanie and Dominik were really welcoming and helpful and we would certainly visit again.

We had a wonderful stay here. The house is very modern and the sanitary facilities are fantastic. Very clean. The kitchen is just grand: a dishwasher and a large oven. Enough pots and pans and crockery. The beds sleep remarkably good. In short: great place to stay!

What a beautiful apartment, well presented with everything you would need. Stefanie and her family were very welcoming and were readily available for any questions or concerns (not that we had any concerns). We were a big family group of 5 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of space for everyone. The views were beautiful and we were lucky enough to see snow as well as some more beautiful sunny days. We used the local bus service to go to Freiburg which was an interesting place although more to do than we knew about - it’s a good idea to plan what you are going to do before you go. We visited Tittisee which was beautiful, lots of lovey souvenir shops as well as great places to eat. We ventured out as far as Stuttgart where we experienced the Mercedes Benz museum and the Weilman zoo both of which were amazing. We went for a walk to see the beautiful waterfall at Todtnau the views along the way were amazing and then tried the hasenhorn toboggan ride which our children thought was the greatest! We even managed to squeeze in a trip to Europa Park which was a definite highlight especially as it was all kitted out for Halloween. All in all a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend to anyone. Would definitely book again!

Our family traveled from the US as well as the Middle East to meet up in the Black Forest for our Thanksgiving holiday! It was the perfect house for 4 adults and 5 children. Everything was modern and clean. The kitchen was very well appointed with all dishes and appliances you need to feel like home! The bakery up the hill had wonderful breads and pastries in the morning. Stefanie and Dominik were very helpful and accessible with any questions we had! Just be aware this house is a higher elevation so if traveling in the winter, be prepared for snow...even if the surrounding towns have none! We loved our time in the Black Forest and would recommend this to anyone traveling in this area and will hopefully stay again! Thank you!

A new vacation place that still is under construction (only the outside). It has everything that is needed to have a good stay including a nice owner (stefanie) that helps you where she can. The place is big enough for 2 family's including children. A nice living room with big tv and a good furniture. The kitchen has everything except a microwave. The bad room is big and also equipped well. A separated toilet makes it more comfortable. If I should say anything that could be changed then I would say that the place does not have a ventilation system. You need to keep the windows open in the bad room and toilet. I sure recommend this place to anyone that desires a good vacation near Todtnau and Freiburg.

This is a great apartment - very new, and with plenty of room for 8 of us (4 adults and 4 children). The owners live very close by - so we had no problem getting help from them when needed. The location is also great - being very close to the Schauinsland mountain, and also not far from Freiburg. Lots of tourist attractions for children and adults. Highly recommended.

Die Wohnung ist hell, freundlich, ruhig und gut ausgestattet. Es ist für eine größere Familiengruppe sehr gut geeignet. Durch die Lage sind vielfältige Ausflüge möglich: Wandern direkt am Schauinsland und Freizeitpark Steinwasenpark; kurze Fahrten mit ÖPNV oder Auto Richtung Feldberg, Hochschwarzwald und Freiburg; Bus direkt vor dem Haus; gute Erreichbarkeit von Freiburg und zu Zielen ins Elsass... . Man kann bei jedem Wetter etwas unternehmen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war sehr nett und unkompliziert...

Wir hatten die eigenen Spannbetttücher vergessen, die wir aber problemlos von der Vermieterin nach ordern konnten. Die Lage der Ferienwohnung ist sehr schön mit einer tollen Aussicht. Wir hatten einen super tollen Herbsturlaub. Zwei Papas und 5 Kinder (scheinbar waren wir die ersten die das gemacht haben 🤔) 1.⭐️: Die Wohnung ist im wunderschönen Schwarzwald, mit tollen Tagesausflügen in direktem Umfeld, auch bei schwierigem Wetter. 2.⭐️: alles wie beschrieben. 3.⭐️: das „Willkommenspaket“ da wir tatsächlich die Geschirrhandtücher vergessen hatten! 🙈 4.⭐️: Das herzliche Willkommen durch Familie Sonner und der „Fuhrpark“ vor Ort. 5.⭐️: Die Möglichkeit auf dem Hof zu reiten. 6.⭐️: Der erste Schnee!!! 😍

Eine äußerst gepflegte Wohnung. In der Küche findet man alles, was man braucht. Ein schöner Balkon mit Abendsonne. Wanderwege und Bushaltestelle direkt vor der Haustür. Ein Restaurant nur wenige Meter entfernt. Und eine nette Vermieterfamilie. Wir hatten ein tolles Wochenende!

Wir haben mit der Großfamilie eine schöne Ferienwoche in Hofsgrund bei Familie Sonner verbracht und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist prima ausgestattet, die Schlafzimmer sind gemütlich und bieten viel Schrankplatz, im modernen Bad macht das Duschen und Baden viel Spaß. Unsere kleinen Jungs durften mit den Traktoren und dem Trampolin der Familie spielen und waren davon begeistert. Auch das Streicheln der kleinen Kätzchen war für sie ein Highlight. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön und bietet für Erwachsene und Kinder zahlreiche Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Familie Sonner hat hierzu viele gute Tipps.

Die Wohnung ist super ausgestattet, es fehlt an nichts. In der gut ausgestatteten Küche macht das Kochen Spaß, vor allem da genügend Geschirr, Besteck und große Töpfe, Pfannen und Schüsseln vorhanden sind. Toll war, dass Extrawünsche, wie eine Reitstunde oder das Raclettegerät kurzfristig ermöglicht wurden. Wir haben uns daher sehr wohlgefühlt. Kleiner Wehmutstropfen war, dass der Bäcker vor Ort gerade für 4 Wochen geschlossen hatte und daher fürs Brötchenholen eine Autofahrt von ca. 15 min erforderlich war.
