Promising place for memorable vacation!

We are a family of 3 (parents-child) and had a short overnight stay, following the arrival in Kastelli with a ship en route to Heraklion. Because we planned to arrive at 5 am (and the reception was closed), we had been given instructions beforehand on how to find the room and we were allowed to stay after noon to get a decent sleep. The brothers than run the place were very helpful and polite. Thumbs up!

Overall experience was positive. The only thing that needed fixing in the room was the shower head which was partly clogged due to scales.

A good place to explore other better beaches from. Kissamoss at night is definitely recommended.

The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The room was spacious and the view was pretty. The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The walk into Kissamoss was very easy and there was an excellent choice of restaurants there with a good atmosphere and beautiful views. The hotel staff were all attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed. The rooms were very clean.

The pool got very busy and there were people who were not hotel residents. It was difficult to find a sun lounger by the pool for a couple of days. Replace the safe with a secure number instead of carrying around a key.

Nice hotel

A very nice hotel , situated directly on the beach. It also has a nice pool. We liked the room, was big and clean. The breakfast also was very good, with plenty of choices. The staff from reception and restaurant was friendly. There are some tavernas quite close, at a walking distance.

There are rocks on the beach, not only sand. It was not a big issue, as we bought water shoes, but we would liked to know this before.

Wonderful stay!

The hotel was amazing! clean, with beach umbrellas and sunbeds for all guests. the pool was lovely and the sunbeds so comfortable. Breakfast really good and varied and the restaurant was cheaper than others in the city but better! lunch and dinner were wonderful!

It's a very good hotel, but the staff was not very friendly: except from the woman (who was very rarely at the reception), almost no one greeted the guests. Apart from that, we had a little problem with the hairdryer (I cannot find it in the room) and they solved it in minutes and they offered us a lunchbox as we checked out very early in the morning. Just a little suggestion to be more cheerful with the guests, but the hotel was amazing!

The atmosphere is very relaxed and it has a nice swimming pool. Personnel was very nice and helpful. The hotel is right on the sea side and the view is great. The premises are well maintained and the restaurant is very good.

The rooms on the top floor are an oven in the evening. It's so hot that it's almost impossible to sleep without A/C on, which we didn't want to do because of the small kids.

New hotel on the beach.

The hotel is very clean. The housekeepers actually clean the rooms, rather then create an appearance that they cleaned them. The beds are very comfortable. The sheets and towels are white, like new. TVs have YouTube connection. They also have very good breakfast. Their restaurant is right in the ocean. Also, our room had two balconies both with ocean front and side view. The rooms have good AC and good pressure in the shower.

The Wi-Fi was spotty.

comfortable beds, great breakfast. The best hotel on the beach for sure. The town is very cute and a 15. minute walk. Restaurants on the beach are fantastic and so close. Nice pool and pool bar. it seems to be windy there in May. Didn’t get much beach or pool time. it was a great homebase for going to Elafonisi, Balos, Stavro and Falasarna beaches.

Not extremely soundproof. Weather was very windy.

Pleasant

The pool was amazing, but the furniture in the room was very old, ripped and dirty. The bathroom was also pretty old and shabby. The entrance door was shaking all night because of the wind and we couldn't sleep because of the noise.

Nice beach hotel for couples

We took half board, the Breakfast was a wide variety of food. The dinner is restaurant like, have to order from the menu. Everything was delicious. The staff is very kind, and comply with covid regulations. The area is quiet, there is a pebble beach in front of the building. But other famous beaches can be reached in half an hour. There is a billiard pool and table tennis which is available for the guests. You can hear the sounds of the sea from the room balcony. The hotel I think is old, but lately renewed.

Highly recommend the place and staff

Hotel Sunny Bay is excellent in every meaning, because the location near of the sea was just amazing, all staff is helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Ioannis, Costas and Eva! Breakfast based on high standard of central Europa, room was clean, balcony large with the sea view and also towards to the rising sun, WIFI was excellent. I don't have any complaints. Even the earthquake was mild, shaking coffee with milk in the cup at breakfast, but nothing else to worry about. Highly recommend the place and staff.

Sunrise in a sunny bay

Wonderful view of the sunrise and the sea from the room terrace, king size bed really comfortable, very good breakfast, extremely nice personnel. The position of the hotel is on my opinion the best in Kissamos and for visiting west Crete; it is closed to the city centre but away from the crowd, with a precious sea view and surrounded by nature.

The fridge and the air conditioning should function all day. I suggest to put a bottle of water in the fridge for the arriving guests.

A hotel with very warm staff.

The hotel was very accommodating when we arrived a bit after 3 a.m. The pool was well kept. The staff was very careful, especially at breakfast. Our room on the first floor was facing the sea--great view. And as someone else wrote, falling to sleep with the sound of the surf was great. We also appreciated the 100% cotton sheets. Sunny Bay did their utmost to meet any requests, no matter how small or large.

Selection at breakfast might have been a bit broader. It would also have been nice to have fresh orange juice.

Hotel pool was big and spacious. A lot of games for the little ones. Spacious rooms. Facilities above three stars rating standards for Greece. Staff was friendly.

Area is remote although location is on the beach. Beach compared to the standards of Crete mediocre. Rooms a little outdated.

Séjour très reposant et agréable.

Hôtel très confortable avec des prestations remarquables pour un 3 étoiles. Les chambres sont superbes et très fonctionnelles, literie confortable, salle d'eau spacieuse avec une très belle douche, petit balcon avec vue sur mer, le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié, servi sur des tables face à la mer, c'est superbe. La piscine est également très agréable, beau bassin de 20 m environ.

le petit bémol, c'est la situation de l'hôtel, l'environnement immédiat est un peu terne mais heureusement la vue sur mer est très reposante avec un panorama magnifique.
