A Wonderful Family Holiday at a Hidden Gem in Kissamos

Sapphire Horizon is a hidden gem in Kissamos and highly recommended for all types of holidays, whether as a couple or a family like us. It was the perfect base for us to visit the nearby top beaches such as Balos, Elafonisi, and Falassarna, and to enjoy dinner in Kissamos or at a nearby taverna in the evenings. What stood out most was the exceptionally friendly and service-oriented staff – true to the motto “small but excellent.” The breakfast was great, with something for everyone, and even snacks during the day were available. A clear 100% recommendation from us!

The Wi-Fi connection is fine for basic internet browsing or checking messages, but if you plan to work remotely during your holiday, it might not be strong enough. We ended up buying an eSIM, which worked well and compensated for the weaker internet signal at the hotel.

Good stay overall

Overall good stay with clean, modern rooms and friendly staff. Easy parking. The town was a bit uninspiring, so we left earlier than planned.

Only downside was the pillows, which were too thick and not comfortable to sleep with. They put effort into the breakfast with a big basket of bread and pastries, but in the end it was a bit too much and not everything was that enjoyable. The eggs and fruit were good though.

Very comfortable place to stay.

I’m not sure how old this hotel is, but it felt brand new and very nicely done. Our room had plenty of space with balcony on the front overlooking the pool and one the back with a view of the mountains. The staff was pleasant and very accommodating. We liked this place so much we extended our stay two days.

This is not a beach hotel. It’s about a 1 km walk to get to the beach. There is an expansion of the hotel currently under construction. It was noticeable, but it was never a problem.

Bad reception but good accommodation

Everything is new and with modern decor. Good breakfast and good space to relax!

1. The check-in was very bad for a 9+ rating hotel, the receptionist didn’t tell us the breakfast hours and the list of options nor the Wi-Fi password. She looked at us in a very mean way and said hardly a word. She just took us to the suite and nothing else. We feel really bad with this reception. The other staff in the morning was great! 2. I think there should be a shower door so the bathroom doesn't get wet 3. Breakfast should include fruit

Exceeded our expectations, I would like to highlight the nice staff. We ask for breakfast, it was plentiful. The water in the pool is pleasant, also ideal for small children. If we go to Kissamos, I will book here again. :)

Bathroom with a shower on the upper floor very small and not functional at all.If one takes a shower everything gets flooded by water, bedroom might as well.

Great place to stay for visiting Elafonissi and Balos Beach

Very high standard of apartment, great pool, friendly and helpful staff. Daily room cleaning and very clean pool and public areas. Laundry was offered for free. Unbeatable rate (in late May). Small center of Kissamos a few walking minutes away. Silent at night.

No washing machine in apartment. Kitchen equipment a bit too sparse.

We didn’t get the split level apartment we booked due to plumbing problems as explained by the manager. however, she made up with free late check out at 6pm. Reception closed quite early.

Very nice place in a quiet area of Kissamos withing wlaking distance of restaurants and town center.

Found this new hotel in Kissamos. Slightly remote from the town center, it offers great facilities. A private car park, a lovely swimming pool with a bar that serves hot and cold drinks. Everything is very new and well built, decorated and equiped. The rooms has cooking facilities if you wish to cook/reheat food. The staff were very helpful and recommended an excellent restaurant.
