Location, service and the room

The passageway through back pf the house to get to the breakfast area could be more pleasant.

Railay Bay Resort & Spa was a genuinely lovely surprise. When booking, the only room available was the Deluxe Cottage with Garden View, so we didn’t set very high expectations — but we were positively surprised. Both on arrival and departure, the transfer service was smooth, friendly, and well organized. To our surprise, even the garden cottages included a complimentary minibar with drinks, which was a very nice touch. The resort itself is quite large, yet it feels very well managed and calm. It was also extremely convenient to stay with a baby — moving around with a stroller was easy and comfortable, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was good with a wide selection, and the breakfast area offered beautiful beach views, making mornings especially enjoyable. Overall, it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Everything was perfect. So close to the beach, the room was so nice and big. Everyone was lovely and friendly. The pool is big and has a breathtaking view of the sea.

The A/C was not that great but get the job done. At least at the room I stayed

Full jungle experience. We saw monkeys jumping on the roof, special birds, amazing experience. Few minutes walk from the beach, the resort’s restaurant was nice too. Very clean room, good air conditioner.

There’s only rain shower, it would be amazing to have a douche.

To be honest I don't know what all the negative comments are about. We stayed in a private cottage with a spa bath. It was cleaned efficiently everyday, everything worked and the bed was really comfy. The breakfast was certainly sufficient for our needs with plenty of options Best of all was the location which stretched between. The East and West Bays with an abundance of restaurants and bars to choose from all in close proximity. We always found sunbeds available around the main pool and people who reserved them was minimal which is unusual these days. I would definitely come again

It is very popular with day trippers, so it can get a bit busy round the West Bay and main shopping area, but that's hardly the hotels fault.

Pool by the beach with seaview of sunset. Nice scenery during breakfast. Free minibar and snacks provided every day. Monkeys and rare birds can be visible within the resort.

Breakfast was poor, no wide selection & variance of choices. Very damp smell in rooms. Floors were not cleaned, full of sand from the beach. Doors did not close properly. Rooms would require some upgrade or renovation.

We raelly liked luxury Villa with private pool, 2 common pools were a bonus, beach is stunning, restaurant food was good as well

Our bathroom and outside pool space around villa could have been maintained better, same with beach front pool area, it needs proper clean daily , especially under sun beds, somehow resort missed these parts….

Food poisoning from restaurant, made worse from the smell of drains in the hotel bathrooms, plus the smell of sewage from the walk from the room to the pool. Staff also sneezed over food/drinks

It is a little out of the way and only accessible by boat but once you are there, it is worth it and they know how to handle the boat service

We got the vila with a pool. Right next to the main pool, the beach and the restaurant. The villa was clean and comfortable and had a lot of snacks included. The place was quite even though it was so close to everything. And we saw a lot of monkeys.

One of the door handles was loose, but it was fixed even without asking. When we just got there we had trouble finding the reception.

We had a wonderful stay at Railay Bay Resort and Spa. Our room was beautiful—clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel at home from the start. One of the highlights was the pool located right on the beach, set against the backdrop of stunning limestone cliffs—absolutely breathtaking. We also really appreciated that the resort offers its own longboat service at specific times, which stops right in front of the hotel at high tide. It was a smooth, uncrowded ride since it’s reserved specifically for resort guests—a big plus! As vegans, we were pleased to find something to eat each morning at the breakfast buffet, even though items weren’t specifically labeled as vegan. A fun bonus: the minibar is free and restocked daily with snacks! We also loved the thoughtful touch of a complimentary tote bag with beach towels, which made pool and beach visits super convenient. Overall, a fantastic experience in a truly gorgeous setting.

Great value for money. A beautiful resort style hotel, with the pool overlooking the sea, right on the beach. Our bedroom was lovely, a comfortable bed, clean and serviced daily. We had an amazing couple’s massage in the spa. Lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance.

It was a bit of a walk from one side of the hotel to the other, so it may not suit everybody, but we didn’t mind. Good to walk off all the yummy food!

The accommodation is about 10 years overdue of a facelift. Don’t be fooled by the images on booking which are smoke and mirrors. I think they have also done up some of the villas in the promo videos but not the cheaper rooms. The new reception area on the pier side is a facade to mask the tiredness within. This was our most expensive Accommodation on the trip (low season) other places we have stayed on our travel have been in the midrange-lower budget for thailand and far better. I sat on one of the chairs outside and the dried old paint In printed on my back and had to be scrubbed off. The spa bath is cracked to pieces it was cleverly hidden in the marketing photos as it was full/at night and with flowers in it, Everything that is metal has reacted to something, there are rusty pipes and unclean patio doors and very cracked walls lay inside the villas. The whole of the inside of our villa/cottage smelt like a heavily used urinal mixed with bleach. I’m all for eco living, but the toilet bins aren’t lined with no female hygiene bags, in an area where you can’t flush toilet role I don’t think this reflects the stars. This should be an eco stay, 2 star, that would be acceptable for 1/5th of what we paid, the price and photos should reflect this and not mislead people and disappoint. I thought with the price this was a bargain, and was fooled by the high overall review. I wish I had filtered the reviews to read the one star, as I would have made me make better choices, we stayed somewhere else on the 2nd night, in a better and far cheaper hotel.

lovely staff, the location is fantastic, absolutly fantastic, i wanted to avoid crowds and Railay beach and this hotel was exactly what i was hoping for, not much people and beach was every day almost empty. and also the hotel was absolutly lovely, really nice.

the jacuzzi needs a bit of painting, and dont serve wine in plastic glasses, but both small details in comparaison with the overall experience

Email correspondence with reception was promptly every time when I had questions. replies were satisfying for inquires. The free undercover car park on the Pier. The very friendly staff that meets you at the office at the Pier. She ordered straight away the boat to take us to the hotel. The staff that helped us getting on the boat with our luggage . The reception on the other side was mind blowing, helping us off the boat. The reception staff very helpfull and so friendly. Transport taking us to our rooms and explaining everything, plus the well stocked mini bar on a daily basis. What a bonus ! The restaurant, food, breakfast, service in general also good. The location is central and ideal. the view incredible. We will definitely return next year !

Location amazing with amazing climbing areas, personal was very friendly and greeted our little daughter every single time we passed by reception 😍, food was Very good. Our room was nice and clean with daily cleaning, and very large with space to take a rest. Territory is nice and green. And massage with bay view was just great. We had perfect holiday trip here.

Nothing worth mentioning, really

Fabulous room where we got to see the cute monkeys jumping around, all the facilities in the room you could ask for and a free daily re stocked mini bar was a lovely surprise. Beach towels and beach bag also supplied. Good breakfast too.

Aircon was a bit hard to work to cool the room.

Beautiful beach views, stunning sunsets, good food, and the perfect place to unwind and relax.

Staff wasn’t the most welcoming at times, particularly toward the end of the day when it seemed staff were eager to wrap up. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the decor and amenities felt somewhat dated and bathroom had a bit of a smell. However, it’s worth noting that renovations were in progress, suggesting upgrades are being made.

Great location 2 swimming pools in which one in very quiet area Price is good for the good quality of the hotel I will come back for sure.

The room was ready before the official check in time but they didn’t want to provide because it was « not ready ». As we knew which room it is, we knew it was ready. Anyway we waited at the pool.
