Hotel Hortus

The staff were great. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The location isn't central but not too far from most of the attractions.

The stairs are a bit scary - take care! Room doors close noisily. Everything else was fine.

Excellent location and easy to get to and from Centraal Station. Very close proximity to ARTIS and Hortus botanical gardens. It's easy to get around anywhere in Amsterdam from here. It felt very safe to be here and it's quiet in the evenings. Prepare for climbing steep staircases to get to your room, a true Dutch building experience. Staff is friendly too. It was easy to check in and check out.

We stayed at the top level during mid-June. It gets really hot up there in the evenings. There is one shared toilet room and one shower room. Prepare for shared facilities as you will need to wait for your turn to use them. These comments are not complaints. I thought it would be helpful to let future guests have an awareness. With historic buildings, what you get should be expected. This hotel was great overall.

The lady at the reception was overwhelmingly friendly (we didn't hate you btw, those were stairs to valhalla 😂)

shared toilet, noise from shower in the morning , 2 expresso 6€ that was a first time when I had to pay for coffee in the morning where night was 200£ , I went in lots of countries around the world and this was the first one like this where u need to pay for coffe , very expensive car parking outside 1 day 62£ , will definitely never come back there again
