Horrible stay

Hardly anything. Only the views from our seaside room

Staff are rude, unhelpful, arrogant. The car Park in front of the hotel is NOT for hotel. You have to park 3/4minutes down the road and their golf buggy transports you there and back, going on a main road with speeding cars with golf buggy is crazy. The dinner was ok but OVERLY SALTY. everything just had salt. The fruits for dessert were swarming with fruit flies rendering it inedible. The breakfast was HORRRID. Dry breads, canned sausages burnt bacon. As if the chef doesnt know how to cook. Only edible was the omlette stations, while we got up to get water, the waitress came and took our FULL plate of food to throw away without asking or thinking when our belongings were at the table. The indoor pool which was advertised as heated, was FREEZING. The indoor temperature may have been 28, but pool water was as cold as the outdoor pool. This is NOT a heated pool. False advertising. Overall horrid stay and not worth the money spent. Dont waste money here. simply not worth it.

Good stay in Dubrovnik Lapad

The area is very relaxing and next to the beaches. It is away from the crowds of the old town. But easy enough to take bus or by uber to the tourist center.

Could have been perfect except for some unfriendly staff at the front desk.

Great location and facilities.

Some of the staff especially at the front desk were not very friendly and they gave my friends a very dark and dungeon like room even if when they knew beforehand that we were staying as part of a tour group arriving later and were staying for 5 days total. They were given a much better room only when they complained.

The property is super nice and loved the location! If you want to have a relaxing, beach holiday this is the place. If you want to see a lot of sights in the city center, this hotel may not be the one for you. Food options were great!

Great service, very clean, quiet clientele with good quiet pool area.

The pool area has 3 pools, and one with music, the other without. I found everyone to be very respectful and quiet around the pool. They also strongly enforce not saving beds, which works well. The breakfast has lots of choice, and the rooms and hotel are very clean. Even though the rooms face into a courtyard the sound proofing is excellent, and again the customers were very quiet in the courtyard of an evening.

With the pool area, the only shame is the towels are not great, and they will only give you one each. and the beds are getting a little past their best. The rooms only have two twins, so if you're in a double you're getting two beds pushed together. There is also queues for the coffee machines at breakfast, and the coffee isn't great! But you can buy it from the bar or cafe and thats much nicer. Also the price has increased in the last few years quite significantly which is a shame, but the same for all the hotels.

I had an incredible stay at Valamar Argosy Hotel and can’t recommend it enough! The massage at the wellness center was pure bliss — so relaxing and professional that I felt completely refreshed afterward. Breakfast was another highlight! Enjoying a delicious variety of fresh food while overlooking the stunning sea view made every morning unforgettable. The swimming pool area is absolutely beautiful, with a gorgeous infinity pool and plenty of comfortable sunbeds — the perfect place to unwind. I stayed in a room with a balcony facing the garden, and it was lovely! Peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by greenery, it felt like a private little escape. The room itself was modern, spacious, and spotless, while the bathroom was well-equipped. Every evening, the hotel had live music, which created such a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere — the perfect way to end the day. Just a 3-minute walk from the hotel is the amazing Coral Beach Bar, with great music, tasty food, and a lively atmosphere — a perfect spot for an evening drink or snack or even the day at the beach. Everything about my stay was perfect — from the friendly staff to the serene atmosphere. If you’re looking for comfort, relaxation, and stunning surroundings, Valamar Argosy Hotel is the ideal choice! 🌊🌴

Very nice location, superb breakfast, but started on a very bad note by giving us a different room

I liked best the location, with the big pools surrounded by islands, hilly scenario and the nice gardens. Getting a deckchair/umberella was not a problem at any time, despite the great number of people. The pool was 26 degrees. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice and really good. The staff at the resturant were nice and helpful. The room was spotless, spacious and had a nice view over the sea (we paid for it). Transport by bus was excellent. Parking was free, which is a luxary in Dubrovnik.

We paid for a room with sea view. The first night we were led to a room with wall view and part garden at ground level, with people literally walking outside. Obviously we were livid (after 10hour journey). Went back to complain and were told that all seaview rooms were taken (overbooked). We were given another room (last one) on the 4th floor overviewing the garden with distant side sea view, with the option of changing the next day to a sea view, which we did. But it was a very unpleasant surprise to start with (We paid for seven nights). To compensate the difference in price (and we had to ask for it) we were given a complimentary dinner buffet for two (70euro). We were still short of around 40euro. I think the mangement were very stingy. The other thing i did not like were the pillows which were very soft. Parking is around 3 mins by golf cart. You have to ask to be taken (but all drivers were efficient, fast and nice)

Very bad hotel policy – I do not recommend it, and we will never return. The hotel should be ashamed of selling rooms that look nothing like the photos. We are always polite and friendly people, but they forced us into an argument – something nobody wants to do while on vacation.

Lovely hotel, very conveniently situated in a fantastic setting.

Breakfast was excellent. The swimming pool had lovely views but sun loungers were a bit old-fashioned and uncomfortable. The staff were very helpful.

An experience below expectations, with limited facilities and high prices

I liked the pool and view

"Unfortunately, my experience was not what I expected. I stayed in a room adapted for people with disabilities, but the structure was very limited for example, the bathroom had no shelf or divider, which made it quite difficult to use. Additionally, the prices within the resort were extremely high, which made the stay even less enjoyable. Honestly, I expected more for the price charged.

Excellent romantic stay , very relaxed

My wife and I stayed here for a getaway without the kids. We chose the sea view room and, although pricey compared to the non-sea view options, it was worth every penny. The vibe around the property is very relaxed. When you need help, just ask — the service was superb. Every member of the hotel staff was very friendly. Mirko, the manager, was excellent. Bojan at the bar was warm and welcoming, and Filip on the front desk was equally helpful. Be sure to explore the local area, including the beach club, nearby shops and restaurants, and take a stroll along the promenade via the sister property next door.

At check in they provide much details verbally on location and nieghbouring attractions. Perhaps this coul be in a pamphlet, then again I mighten read it!

Peaceful and beautiful place, perfect for il dolce far niente

Spacious room with plenty of shelves. Lovely garden and swimming pool area. Breakfast and dinner buffet was excellent. The staff was friendly.

The hotel resort is a little bit isolated. But it’s close to the beach and the bus to Dubrovnik Old Town runs often and doesn’t take longer than 15 minutes.

The beaches. Since they are not “private” property since there are not private beaches, so to go down we were asked to pay €100 for 2 chairs at the bar … not nice. The hotel must have anything to do so they would be cheaper

Everything you could want in a 3 night stay!

The hotel was in a great location, short ride from Dubrovnik old town, very close to some of the beach bars, and had all the facilities you could ask for. Staff were really good in all the places we used (receptions, bars and restaurants). Rooms were a decent size and bathroom ample. View from the pool side area were amazing, even on the cloud overcast first day. In the sunshine, even better

Very clean hotel, staff were all so friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel with great facilities. Food at the hotel was great, very fresh and healthy options at breakfast and dinner buffets. We travelled with our 8m old daughter, she was well catered for despite being designed for adults. Convenient to get into old town via bus. Lots of areas to relax inside and outside

Really liked the location and views over the sea. The outdoor and indoor pools and pool areas were lovely. Lots of sun loungers and towels to use. A bit of a rabbit warren getting around the hotel and a little bit soulless. Rather a lot of coach parties in for one or two nights. Very little to do around the hotel and a very end of season feel.

A bit disappointing!

The view, the housekeeping, reception staff. The concierge staff were excellent.

During the day, between breakfast and dinner time, if you feel hungry, you need to go somewhere else. The Oliva restaurant is open and serves the same food as in the buffet but at a higher prices. The buffet does not open at lunchtime! No snacks can be bought from the bars. The worst and unexpected surprise was that the hotel does not have a private beach that belongs to them and is offered to the hotel guests. So, if you wish to spend a day on the beach you need to pay extra, and walk to the hotel next door to use their beach. There is no music at the pools and the only time you can experience some musical entertainment is in the evenings until 11pm. The genre is too soft and in my opinion guests would enjoy some sort of evening entertainment such as dancing, or more lively, happy music. In 6 days, only on Sunday there was a brilliant water aerobics instructor who played lovely music and gave an excellent class.

Relaxing Hotel away from Hustle of Old Town

Argosy was still closed so they moved us to the President Hotel next door (5*) So this review is for that hotel (however we stayed Argosy last year and really enjoyed it also - great pools and food) Rooms large, wonderful sea views. Bathrooms with walk in showers. Outside areas for Drinks/restaurant are great / lovely views and sunshine. Breakfast buffet wonderful.s Service and staff were great everywhere. Great to get no 6 bus to old town right outside door, (or #7 to the bus terminal)

Had to move rooms twice -- first sprung a leak in bathroom light fitting from room above, 2nd had really noisy neighbours. Decor a little worn for 5 * hotel but can see signs this is being updated. Weather cool while we were there... outdoor pool too cold, indoor pool OK but not greatest.Beach restaurant had not quite opened also.

The hotel was quite far from the city of Dubrovnik. It was a challenging walk to get down to the hotel beach, difficult climb uphill from the beach area shared by the adjacent hotel. Beach area had a large unattractive concrete swimming /sunning platform in the middle of it. Also very rocky shore. Not easy to go in and swim.
