About this house rental

Located in Ka Milo at the Mauna Lani Resort area, our luxury home boasts 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen stocked with essential equipment, a laundry room with a washer and dryer set, and a lanai deck with an ocean view. It comfortably sleeps up to ten adults and can accommodate large families for an extended stay in the Mauna Lani resort area.

The building is a two-story paired home, with the upper level consisting of the kitchen, living room, dining room, half bathroom, one master bedroom with a queen-size mattress and a full bathroom, and the lanai deck area. The kitchen and living area has a high vaunted ceiling and the doorway to the lanai deck opens the whole wall to the outdoors, letting you take in the wonderful weather while cooking or lounging.

The lower level has one master bedroom with a king-size bed and full bathroom, one bedroom with a queen-size bed, a bedroom with two queen-size beds, a full bathroom, and a laundry room. The property is roughly 3700 square feet and has a two-car garage attached to the house. In the garage there are bikes for traveling around the area and equipment for a beach expedition.

The house is fully stocked with basic toiletries, bath and beach towels, snorkel gear, coffee machine, toaster, wine cooler, paper towels and toilet paper, BBQ and grill utensils, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys, life jackets, beach coolers, and bikes.

The Ka Milo development is adjacent to the Francis H. I'l Brown Golf Course (North) ( the scenic Fairmont Orchid hotel with all of its amenities and dining opportunities, and, for the archeology nerds, the Puako Petroglyph Park. Distance to the beach at the Orchid is only 0.4 miles.

Nearby is the Ka Milo Recreation Center, complete with a grilling area, lap pool, kiddie pool, two hot tubs, a gym with free weights and exercise machines, and large lawns. A short drive away is the Mauna Lani Owners' Beach, a protected bay wherein you may swim, snorkel, and otherwise enjoy the beach. The beach also has a full restaurant and bar.

Our stay was fantastic. The house had almost everything you could want in a rental place. We really loved the lanai and other outdoor spaces. We had two five year olds and the house was perfect for them - safe and lots of room to play and just be kids. Access to the beach club and community pool made it really convenient to be outdoors and active. We would definitely stay here again!

Facilities were as described and then some! Beach card availability allowed us access many beaches and local resorts for added fun and enjoyment. We brought family ranging in age from 1-80 for the Ironman 70.3 event on June 3 at the Fairmont Orchid and this house was GREAT! We had adequate space inside the house and the outside decks and patios made it perfect for relaxing and spending time as a family. The owner was available and responsive to any concerns the neighborhood was tucked away just steps from the main road connecting us to the other subdivisions with more family members and the larger Mauna Lani village. The pool, the beach club, and the golf course were valuable assets to the trip. There is something for everyone here. I can’t wait to come back! I highly recommend this property and this area if you are exploring the Big Island of Hawaii !!

We stayed here during Spring Break 2023. We have stayed at many VRBOs and this one most closely represents "What you see is what you get". The photos are accurate, the home is clean, well stocked for cookware, etc and had all the basic necessities. Adrian was timely in responding to our enquiries.

I don't even know where to begin as everything was just so amazing. We were a group of 2 families, 4 adults and 3 teens. The house fit our needs perfectly, everyone had their own private space and we also had a lovely space to come together for meals or just gather as a group. The beds were comfortable and everthing was perfectly clean. The kitchen was well stocked and we never felt like we were missing anything. The house also had ample beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, boogie boards, bikes and beach towels. This is prob. the best stocked VRBO I have ever stayed in. Ka Milo is really beautiful, everyone is respectful and friendly. I can only imagine how many hours is spent on landscaping, as it's gorgeous. The pool area is lovely and we found it to be quite quiet, even during spring break travel. The Beach Club at Mauna Lani is a real bonus, we enjoyed it so very much. We ended up renting a golf cart which was very convenient to get around Mauna Lani, we made trips to all the other resorts (Fairmont, Auberge Mauna Lani), The Shops at Mauna Lani, 49 Black Sand Beach, the petroglyph park, the historic park and the Mauna Lani Beach Club. We had excellent communications from Adrian and his parents before and during our stay. A couple of unavoidable hiccups were solved quickly and effectively which was greatly appreciated. Thanks again for sharing your piece of paradise with us, I would recommend it to anyone and would love to come back someday.

When booking our stay, I wanted to find a house with access to the mauni lani beach club. The beach is amazing. It is a great protected cove with cabanas and beach chairs and is a great place for both hanging with the kids (as there are very minimal wave breaks) and snorkeling. This house also has access to the community center (2 pools & 2 hot tubs) within walking distance. I found this listing for my family of 10 adults and 2 children (3 years and 9 months). This house slept us all comfortably. The house came with some amenities that made it easier to stay here with children such as a high chair, pack and play, crib sheets and bed mats to help contain nighttime accidents, as well as a child toilet seat. It did not come with any baby gates to block access to the stairs, but I reached out to Adrian and he gave me info on where I could rent one if we chose to. Adrian was extremely responsive and very helpful. We were in contact multiple times over small things and he responded quickly. He came out on at least 2 different occasions to address problems I had informed him of such as a cracked toilet seat and a problem with the ac. He resolved both of these problems quickly. The house itself is relaxing and beautiful. We loved having a BBQ on the back patio watching the sunset or getting up early and having a coffee. The view and atmosphere was very relaxing. The garage is stocked with beach accessories such as chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, boogie boards and bikes.

This home did not disappoint and would recommend to anyone looking for a great house close to the beaches. There are plenty of beach toys for all ages as well as bicycles for running to the market down the street or to one of the many nearby beaches. You have access to the Mauna Lani beach club but we also like several of the other nearby beaches, especially on Puako where you will find turtles sleeping at your feet. We have stayed at several properties over the years in the Kamilo subdivision and this was a great home and the owners were very easy to work with. We cooked or grilled most nights and the home was well supplied to meet our needs. I look forward to our next stay.

Our family of 9, including my 2 yo granddaughter had a fabulous time staying in this beautifully appointed home. So many amenities available to us! We loved having access to the private beach club! The owners communicated well with me and the description of the home as very accurate. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Hawaii.

Really nice place for a family vacation. Unit had everything one would need or want for a family vacation. Garage had beach equipment, bikes and even snorkel gears. Kitchen had all the necessary appliances. The community pool was the best pool I've ever been in, it was clean and the water was nice! They were able to accommodate our family for a late check-out on short notice, that was awesome. Would definitely book at this location again.

This was a wonderful stay! The communications was amazing from long before our stay to the very last day. The private beach was perfect, the home and community couldn’t have been better for our family. Tons of space, beach toys and bikes kept our kids busy. Being so close to other resorts was a treat too and the benefit of a local grocery store was an unexpected benefit. Mahalo!

This house and space worked great for our extended family of 10 for a 2 week stay this past Christmas. This subdivision is really nice and close to the coast (about a 20 minute walk or so to get there). The pool is very close to this unit, which was convenient for our kids. We also loved the owners club--great for snorkeling especially our first timers. If you are a looking for a place to rent in the Kohala area this is a great choice.

This vacation property was fabulous! We brought our Gym Coaches to the Big Island for their first time and the moment we walked thru the door, it sounded like Christmas morning with little children. They were blown away with how beautiful the house was. We spent every morning on the patio drinking coffee and relaxing. We did not want to go home! We will be booking this place again when we return with another large group.

The house was a beautiful disaster. The most frustrating part is all of these issues could easily be avoided with competent property management. Here is what we found and experienced during our stay at this property. Upon arrival we immediately noticed the inside of the house was quite dirty. The floors turned socks black immediately. The dishes were put into cupboards dirty, most covered with food and filth. There were urine stains around the toilets. There was significant mold in/around the sink. Ant and cockroach infestation in the kitchen. The drapes were pulling out of their wall mounts nearly falling off the wall presenting a hazard. The basement tub would not drain and would backup with dirty water at every use. Spiderwebs present throughout the house. Cabinets were sticky and grimey. The air conditioner broke on day 2 and we spent 1/2 a day waiting for the technician to show up and perform repairs. The dishwasher broke on first use. We spent hours washing dishes by hand our entire stay and no repairs were ever attempted on the dishwasher during our 10 day stay. We spent most of our first day cleaning sinks, floors, cabinets, dishes, mold on the sink and refrigerator water dispenser. The vacuum was so clogged it would not pick up anything. I had to spend an hour taking it apart and cleaning it out. Multiple attempts were made to contact Adrian, our property manager which mostly went ignored. He seemed quite non-plussed about our pleas for assistance and outright ignored multiple calls and texts toward the end of our stay and for several days after. To this day he still has yet to return our calls or texts. Ghosted 100%, truly horrific customer service. Cannot in good faith recommend to anyone until competent property management is in place. We saved for years to take this dream vacation with our children and my parents and our strongest memories are of the horrors of the house instead of the beautiful island of Hawaii.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this property. It had everything we needed and more that made our stay enjoyable. Aside from the location, which is a short walk to the pool and a short drive to several amazing beaches, not to mention all the beach and pool accessories in the garage that made the excursions safe and fun, we appreciated all the details that made the stay even better than expected. The night lights enabled our kids to see better in their rooms at night, the toys and games were for children of all ages, and the quality kitchen materials made cooking pleasurable. We loved meals on the lanai and the spaces to both be together and get our rest. The welcome manual was so helpful and made planning easy and exciting. When we thought we had an issue, Adrian was quick with a response. We’d definitely return again!

This is a beautifully appointed home with everything you need for a fabulous vacation. Super clean, plenty of beach-going supplies (towels, chairs, umbrellas, toys, snorkel gear). The beach club is great for an easy Keiki option and nice snorkeling. If you like boogie boarding try Hapuna a bit up the road-but make sure you get there early for good parking. The pool facilities are very pretty and a quick 5 minute walk from the home. There’s a Foodland Farms within the development but I’d stock up at Costco before checking in. Great local fish and the BEST poke (and we’ve tried 6 locations on the island) at Da Fish House up by the harbor (15 min drive) if you want to grill. They have sashimi grade ahi at a fair price literally “off the boat”. Fantastic local breakfast place up in Waimea called Hawaiian Style Cafe - the haupia pancakes are great. All in all would definitely stay here again and the location and amenities and beaches are all perfect for a great Big Island vacation.

We love Ka Milo and were glad to be back on the Big Island again. It was our first time staying in this particular home. The home is well equipped for activities (beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, coolers, floats, boogie boards, etc.). Check-in was very easy, the host was easy to contact, friendly, and helpful. All information we needed on the home, property, beach and pool area was provided. The neighborhood pool and gym are nice and are very convenient. And it's great having the beach club nearby (access comes with the home). Our only complaint is that the home wasn't as clean as it should have been. Several of the toilets had not been adequately cleaned and we found dishes in the cupboards that were dirty. Because of this, we couldn't give a five-star rating. With a little more attention to cleanliness, it's an easy five stars!

My family of four (2 kids - 7 and 9) stayed in this beautiful home for 2 weeks. The house is nicely appointed and was very clean. The check in and out process was very convenient. When we did have to contact the owners (which not frequent), they responded within minutes of our inquiry. We particularly enjoyed all of the toys in the garage including the snorkel gear, boogie boards, coolers and particularly the bikes. We strongly recommend this home for families. Aloha.
