Hideaway Off Heta

Wow what a wonderful hide-away this property is. We really enjoyed this large private suite of rooms ( private lounge, huge bathroom, huge bedroom and even a study) which was separate to the hosts quarters although within the home. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen and an electric blanket. The host's advance communications were excellent and so considerate (seeking what our preferences were for breakfast which offered an impressive variety of fruits, cereals, breads. The hosts Judy & Denis were welcoming and understanding when we arrived late due to road works. They were able to offer useful recommendations for local information and Judy kindly sent us on our way the next morning with her homegrown nashi apples and gardening tips. We loved her beautiful cat Pearl. This property and the owners was absolutely great and we are grateful to them for a lovely stay and for photos of Pearl.

The hosts were very nice and i enjoyed conversing with them. Every thing was well thought out and planned. Guests can enjoy their own lounge and bathroom, in addition to bedroom.

Judy our host was fantastic, kind, warm and welcoming. The bed was very comfy, the shower and bathroom facilities were excellent, as was the size of both rooms, and the lovely bush view. Sound of morning birdsong and quiet peaceful position was very relaxing when in our room.

The description of "In Your Room" on Booking.com was very misleading. This included a flat screen TV, tea/coffee maker, toaster, kitchenware etc. There was no TV in our room, no tea/coffee making facilities, toaster or fridge (when queried A fridge was brought down from upstairs). We had to use the main kitchen and watch TV in the hosts lounge. The breakfast was adequate but not up to the standard we are used to (no extras such as "local specialties" which was included in breakfast items). We had to ask for an outside light to be switched on when it was dark and we were out. There was no key to our room so it was not secure. Only a hook attached to the inside of the door to be used while we were in the room. Felt like we were in the way at times, and actually would have liked our own space. We never book at a B & B which does not offer a TV or Tea/Coffee making, but have often enjoyed joining the hosts for a breakfast which has been prepared with care. This was not the case on this occasion sadly.
