Aldrich Cottage

The kitchen was generally well equipped. The shared gardens of the estate were great. There are plenty of bathrooms and decent sized rooms. Many TV channels available. Beautiful local walks. The reception was helpful and friendly. Plenty of fridge space and a good washing machine and dryer. The welcome goodies were great.

Bowls and deep plates are needed. The terrace reachable from the downstairs bedroom was not that great. The oven temperature was too low. How to get the UK channels on TV BBC 1 etc. was not clear. Access to gardens from the back door is not allowed.

Most of the rooms were very spacious. The one with the double bed was a bit smaller with not a lot of room to move around the bed. The showers were nice and powerful. The bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen was reasonably well equiped but would be a bit small if you were cooking a large meal for 8 people. The wifi was easy to log into and worked well. The property was nice and warm.

Only a minor point but some of the shower screen and shower door edges had some limescale on them. Also some bathroom windows had a little mould in the corners.

A perfect base for 4 friends to meet for a catch up. A room each with our own bathroom facilities was ideal.

A bright light at the front of the property disturbed the sleep of 2 of our group whose bedroom windows faced that direction.

The location is great. The cottage was lovely and warm. All the bedrooms have en-suites. Amazing walks close by and The George Inn was a great find. Nice big hall to keep muddy shoes out of the way.

Chairs at the table were awful. Shower in room 5 leaked through the ceiling. Shower in room 3 runs 10 mins after turning it on. The Cottage needs a little TLC it feels neglected. It rained heavily while we were there and there were lots of noisy dripping outside.
