There was nothing really for us in general but if I could pick a couple of things and be a bit picky then the setees although extremely comfortable for us they were a bit low for anyone with mobility issues and the toilet seat would not stay up but that is being very picky. We loved our stay at Poppies Cottage and will definitely check to see if it is available first when booking for next year

Very disappointed - Beautiful setting, good facilities but filthy

We loved the location. The views were fabulous and the cottage wasn't far from the ferry. Facilities were exceptional with a state of the art shower, Jacuzzi bath and Sauna. There was also a washing machine, tumble drier and dish washer although we didn't use these. Plenty of parking right at the door and Wifi worked well most nights.

We were very disappointed at the cleanliness of this property. The washing up bowl and dish drainer were filthy and I had to scrub these before being able to use them. The cutlery and cutlery drawer were also very greasy necessitating me having to clean this too before use. The pots and pans had not been cleaned and there was baked on food on some of the pots and lids. The oven had not been cleaned for a while either and the grease had been covered up by putting tin foil over the bottom of the oven. One of the Bath towels had a suspicious dark brown mark on it too but I always bring my own towels so that wasn't a complete disaster. Also, we had not be warned in the description of the property on Booking.com that the water would be brown and peaty. If we had known this then we would not have booked this accommodation. The colour of the water also put us off using the Jacuzzi as it was not inviting to go into a Jacuzzi filled with brown water! We tried to contact the owner on the first evening to alert him to the lack of cleanliness of the property. I did this via the booking.com app as I always do but I got no reply. I left it another day and so on the third day tried to contact the owner again but still had no reply. I finally got a reply to my messages the afternoon before we left, which was very suspicious to us, and this reply was from Sykes Cottages and not even from the owner. It is such a shame as the facilities and location were wonderful but the lack of cleanliness destroyed our good opinion of Poppies Cottage.
