Shanghai Marriott Hotel Kangqiao

Breakfast was great, plenty of choices. The room was huge, very luxurious and with many nice design elements. I especially liked the lighting plan in the room that is usually just an afterthought, here is was clearly part of the design of the room. The bathroom had every you could wish for and the bed was super comfortable! I liked having a good table and two additional couches with also plenty of electric connections.

It was perfect! The only thing if you stay at this property is to consider that the connection to the subway in more than 4 km away, but I thing a good connection to this area is now being constructed. But in fact I used Didi and that was fine and not expensive at all.

35/40 minutes distance from downtown Shanghai

Breakfast had a very good choice of food and all fresh and well prepared. Coffee however was not great - warm and weak. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom excellent with towels regularly changed and complimentary items i.e. toothpaste, cotton buds, body lotion etc were constantly refreshed daily. Air-conditioning excellent. Fresh free bottles of water were left in the room everyday. The staff were helpful and worked hard to ensure everyone had a good experience at breakfast. Every possible comfort or need/desire for guests was anticipated and without fuss or ado catered for.

The hotel is a long way from anywhere. Travel in to Shanghai city is about 40mins by taxi. Surrounding area of hotel was unattractive and uncared for being scrubby and has constant building in progress, although I appreciate the hotel is not responsible for surrounding area . The distance from anywhere ie Shanghai City and the unattractiveness of the surrounding area spoilt the trip.
