Hostel & Tatami Bar Uchikobare -内子晴れ-

I booked this place simply as an inexpensive stopover before catching a train in the morning, so I arrived late and left early. However, the staff were so kind and the food they were cooking smelled so delicious, I would love to return and properly enjoy a stay there. The house is really beautiful and the dorm room was comfortable. The town of Uchiko was also unexpectedly charming and worth a longer exploration!

I didn't know I was expected to make my own bed up at first, but the staff did offer to help and it was not too difficult. For the low price you pay to stay, it's a minor thing.

Just gorgeous place

Nothing really, it was a really amazing hostel

Uchikobare Guesthouse was just delightful. What a find.

Nothing

Beautiful old building , well located in old town with a store showcasing local artists Staff were really lovely and prepared an interesting dinner for us.

While I hate to say this , it wasn’t a great sleeping experience due to the fact that rooms are essentially cubicles so sound travelled and made for a disturbed night ie: next doors snoring , and the parade of people going to the shared toilet facilities throughout the night . Showers are on a lower floor to bedrooms with access through the kitchen. We were a couple in a double but the other rooms were groups in dorms .
