The breakfasts were amazing. If anything, a bit too much food, but great quality and selection, obviously a lot of care and attention to the environment as well as the food itself.
Location is fantastic. Views across fields and a river towards Blencathra (I think, didn't confirm, but looked about right from the maps and compass reading). Quiet, with just the sounds of the sheep and the birds in the morning and evening while we were there. Only 30 minutes into the top of the Lake District too.
The room was lovely. So well fitted out. Elegant and felt spacious despite the massive bed, cupboard, desk, and a really nice shower.
The owners Peter and Judith made us feel extremely welcome. Not used to being addressed by my name except by people I know well, but they made it seem incredibly normal and it was a wonderful & personal touch.
Small things as well: welcome chocolates; a small fridge; great recommendations for places to eat; letting us have a couple of apples for the journey from their tree (delicious by the way); USB ports on the sockets; etc etc.
Floorboards in the room could have been a bit quieter and the type and material of the toilet door made flushing the loo quite loud in the middle of the night (partner is a very light sleeper).
Other than that, nothing I can think of. Was genuinely that good.

The owners are wonderful, they were so attentive and they run a beautiful B&B. Room was comfy, clean, with all the amenities you would need, and breakfast was amazing.
