The friendly staff
Very outdated, is definitely NOT a Spa, you have to know the bathroom are shared.

Lovely helpful drive that picked us up and then returned us the next day to the train station
Very old and run down building, mouldy smelling.
10 / 10Outstanding·Sep 2026
The staff was so kind they allowed us to add a last minute dinner on our check-in day! The food was amazing so we were very happy we could add both dinner and breakfast for both nights. We loved having their onsen after our light hiking day! Very convenient travelling by car with their private parking lot.
The building is a bit old and the onsen is small, but everything is kept clean so it didn't bother us at all.

It was quaintly old fashioned and genuine The food was very good The staff were characterful It was a bit unusual in the Fawlty Tours sense
The onsen was very much an ugly old indoor room which was not what the photos suggested The futons were already laid out at 4pm when we arrived so we couldn’t use the table in our room No lift - have to heave cases upstairs Rooms not very soundproof Toilets miles away
