We loved how beautiful, cozy, and peaceful the hotel was. The staff was extremely kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The overall atmosphere is charming and perfect for relaxing.

Honestly, nothing significant. We had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed our stay.

Staff was amazing. Loved having access privately to the spa, Food was good.

Farther away from Montalcino than I expected.

Mastrojanni Relais is the five star luxury hotel equivalent of an agricultural turismo. This is where you stay if you want to sleep and play luxuriously while still eating meals made from organic ingredients from the farm on the same premises and wine from grapes grown a few meters from your hotel room. The service is exemplary and truly concierge. We came with our very picky 2 year old and the staff was eager to shower him with love, toddler approved food accommodations, and toys. Often the staff and chefs readily obliged to off-menu exceptions for our child, and didn't bat an eye as he roamed around the very classy restaurant like a hungry t-rex. Perhaps the best thing about this place is the restaurant. Yes, the food. Recently management was able to nab an incredibly talented chef who worked in Paris for 10 years, traveled all over the world, and finally decided to come back home and create a seasonal and exceptional menu in this relatively remote and unassuming place. This was by far the best food we had in our 2 week trip to Italy. I'm not sure if it's because we were a bit burnt out by the run of the mill pizza and pasta scene, but beside this fact the food was nothing short of a Michelin star experience, which came as a huge surprise. Why did nobody tell me how good the food was going to be? I was shocked. Our favorites were the butter noodles with sweet raw shrimp, the cauliflower cream, and potato tortellini with raw tuna. We ate all our meals here during our 3 night stay here. Yes it was on the pricier side, but coming from Los Angeles this was nothing new for a spectacular dining experience. It also afforded the convenience that our toddler needed to stay close to the hotel room, between his nap schedule and diaper changes, compared to the much more remote and frankly mediocre food options further out in the nearby towns. The hotel room was comfortable and spacious. It came with a complimentary bottle of wine and assortment of soft drinks.
