A wonderful place to spend some time.

Mr. Phong and his wives are very friendly, trying to make you feel at home and arranging whatever you imagine. The rooms are nice, quiet and clean. The place is situated a bit away from all the hustle, we appreciate that a lot. They also rent scooters, the beach is 5 minutes away. Warmly recommended.

Passport Held and Extra Charges Demanded.

Isolated

Extremely disappointing and stressful experience. The hotel receptionist arranged a car rental and confirmed the timing as 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM the next day, which was clearly written on the rental slip. When we returned exactly at 9:30 PM, we were falsely told we were late and asked to pay an extra 600 THB. Our passport had been taken at the time of rental, which put us under pressure to pay in order to get it back. This behavior felt dishonest and completely unprofessional. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property. Travelers should be very cautious and avoid handing over their original passport under any circumstances. STRICTLY AVOID BOOKING AT THIS HOTEL. Location is remote. Hotel persons are alway6trying to find a way to scam people. They are threatening tourists ,that that know police.

Best hotel in Koh Lanta

Amazing hotel in a quiet location (in the jungle!). The owners (Mr. Pong and his wife) are wonderful people who manage the place and are always ready to help. Everything was just perfect! Every day cleaning, great air conditioning, and comfortable beds - 10/10! We stayed here for 8 nights and wish we could have stayed longer... Thanks for having us! RECOMMENDED!

Aggressive and threatening behavior from the owner after an accident

Unfortunately nothing after the accident.

Our stay at Mr. Phong’s place started well. We had dinner at his restaurant, booked trips, rented a bike, and initially had no issues. However, even from the beginning, the interaction felt cold and transactional rather than genuinely hospitable. Everything changed after an accident involving my boyfriend. While opening the sliding glass door, a bat flew directly into his face, causing him to panic, fall, injure his knee, and break the glass door. I wasn’t in the room when It happened so at first I thought was due wet floor, but that doesn’t really matter. There was significant bleeding and it was a genuinely distressing situation. I immediately went to Mr. Phong to explain what had happened and to ask for help. His first reaction was not concern for the injured guest, but to stand and stare at the broken door for quite a long time. Only later did he ask how my boyfriend was and offer to drive him to the hospital, which felt secondary to his concern about the damage. From that moment on, his focus was entirely on money. He repeatedly said “you pay, you pay” without giving us any information, any cost or any opportunity for a calm discussion. There was no attempt at reasonable dialogue. When we explained that this was an unforeseeable accident and that we did not believe we should be held responsible, he became aggressive, shouted at us, and threatened to call the police. He ordered us back to our room with a really hateful tone of voice, saying we would have to wait a long time for the police. I called the tourist police myself. After speaking with both sides, the police confirmed that we did not need to pay anything, especially as there were no written rules or policies regarding damages. Throughout this entire situation, his behavior caused us significant stress and anxiety and completely ruined several days of our vacation.

All the food Mr Phong's wife makes is absolutely delicious and all of their cats are very friendly. It would be good to have a separate shower area so the water doesnt go everywhere. However, the water did dry in the bathroom surprisingly quick.

Super friendly and helpful host, great fresh food, peaceful location

Super friendly and helpful host. Mr. Phong assisted us with everything, including renting a motorbike, arranging a day trip ticket, and organizing our transfer to Khao Sok. The breakfast was delicious, and the dinner was great as well..everything is cooked from fresh ingredients. The area was perfect, the room spacious, and the whole place has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. In the morning, you can even see cows walking in front of the bungalows, which adds a unique charm. Also very central and only about 30 minutes from the national park and just 7 minutes by scooter to the closest beach.

If you are not planning to get scooter it can be far from the beach area

This is probably the best place to stay in all Koh Lanta. Pong family will make you feel comfortable and welcome 🤗 Very clean and quiet, good location. Gorgeous kitchen! Cheerful cats 🐈

We reserved the deluxe room, the room we had had nothing to do with the one on the pictures, ( there is only one of those) and we got a double room small with thin walls and neighbors. That the owner said that was deluxe too.. We reserved this place because of the good reviews but I regret it. Also transport of the ferry won't take you there, is too far for them

Amazing little Bungalows with more than hospitable owner

For anyone researching where to stay in Koh Lanta its like this; unless you are a middle class family of 5 you are very more than likely to rent a scooter to explore the island. With that said, there is no reason why you would not stay here. It is away from any main strip but not far when on a scooter. The accommodation is pretty new and modern. Each room comes with a tv, big fridge, a toaster and a kettle and free coffee. 7-11 is about 5 min scooter ride and you can basically buy food materials to cover your breakfast/lunch and or whatever. Beds are very comfortable and the AC is all working fine. The host, Mr Pong, is very welcoming and clearly cares greatly about all the finer details regarding your stay and will assist in any future planning. Like many other reviews left, ours was originally 2 nights and after those 2 nights and as I write this, we’re still here and will be for another 3 nights (total 1 week) which says alot. So if you’re put off by where it is, just think about it like this; there is a great likelihood you will rent a scooter anyway so you may as well just stay here where so many people have agree le that its a good spot.

We really enjoyed our 6 night stay at BaanPhong Lanta, formerly known as Baan Khao Mai Kaew Lanta Village, which is the address for the property on Google Maps. Mr Pong, the owner, is a lovely man and a wonderful host. He speaks good English and is super helpful. We enjoyed our conversations with him. The rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We slept very well during our stay. The location is approximately 2km from Klong Nin beach where there are plenty of restaurants, bars and a 7/11. We liked the quiet location as we rented a scooter from Mr Pong. We will be sure to stay again when we visit Koh Lanta.

Exceptional comfort in this price range in a natural environment full of butterflies and birdsong.

Mr Pong and his wife Enn are charming and engaging and pay unusual attention to helping you, making you feel safe and welcome and their Bungalows are extremely good value for money. providing so many detailed extras at this price range is literally unheard of so we felt really lucky to find the accommodation. convenient and close to the beach, surrounded by wonderful nature and away from noise and dirt. It’s a rustic environment but our bungalow was considered, spacious, so clean and comfortable and our hosts were very generous!

The location is only convenient if you have a moped or are prepared to hail taxis. this isn’t a criticism, more just helpful to know. There are a few cats which I wasn’t keen on but I told Mr Pong and he kept them away.

Very good staff

When we arrived mr pong asked if we wanted to hire a motorbike which we didn’t - he explained that taxis would be hard to get as this accommodation is in a little village - the setting is very tranquil and nice but too far to walk to beach, restaurants, supermarkets etc. He then upgraded us to his villas on the beach for a small price which we accepted. His accommodation on the beach (Baan rimlay - 5mins drive from this accommodation) was also really nice, not as modern but still nice. The bed was the comfiest bed I’ve had so far in Asia. It is directly on the beach with sun loungers over looking the sea. 5 mins walk from a 7/11 and so many restaurants within walking distance. Washing here was also very cheap and done within 4 hours. Mr pong was extremely helpful and such a good host

Nice and quiet place to stay and mr pong is always there to help you. Rooms were very nice as well. You can rent a scooter at the hotel and then its maybe a 5 min drive to the closest beach.

We very much enjoyed our stay, and couldn't have been happier with the location. Yes, you'll need a scooter, but then you're in the perfect location for trips everywhere on the island (Old Town, National Park in the south, all the beautiful and empty beaches on the west coast). Also there are so many great and relaxed bars and restaurants just a few minutes by scooter away. Wifi was working flawlessly and the owners helped with everything. Thank you!

Communication with the owners was a bit difficult as only some speak english.

Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb. Mit Auto aber kein Problem. Sehr ruhig gelegen.

Leider kein Pool, haben wir aber gewusst. Könnte etwas besser gereinigt werden und auch das Frühstück etwas abwechslungsreicher gestaltet werden.

Une parenthèse enchantée et reposante.

Monsieur Pong, et sa femme sont d’une gentillesse et d’une générosité sans nom. Le service de taxi qui nous a récupéré au port était excellent. Monsieur Pong répondra à toutes vos attentes, notamment pour la location de scooter. Le jour où nous sommes arrivés, il n’avait plus de scooter disponible et au bout de même pas un quart d’heure, il nous a trouvé un scooter défiant tout prix de concurrence. La nourriture de madame Pong est excellente autant le soir que celle du petit déjeuner. Nous vous recommandons cet établissement, les yeux fermés.

Die Unterkunft bietet den maximalen Service, super Komfort, Sauberkeit und super gutes Essen

Man wird komplett umsorgt und kann sich mit jedem Anliegen beim Mr Phong (dem Inhaber) melden und einem wird direkt mit allen Mitteln geholfen. Falls du ein Shuttle/Taxi, Motorroller, Wasser und sonst etwas brauchst wird dir sofort geholfen. Bei mir war ein Blinker von einem Mofa kaputt und Mr Phong hat ihn einfach so für mich repariert. Die Unterkunft selber ist sauber wird jeden Tag gemacht, besitzt eine Klimaanlage, einen Safe und ist gemütlich. Das Essen ist auch günstig und SEHR gut (vor allem die Pancakes und Obstteller zum Frühstück). Würde jedes Mal wieder kommen.

Die Klimaanlage macht manchmal Geräusche weswegen ich empfehlen würde Ohropax mitzunehmen falls du in der Nacht empfindlich für Geräusche bist

Alles perfekt

Wir haben hier ein paar wunderbare Tage verbracht. Die Zimmer sind großzügig, modern und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich. Herr Phong ist äußerst hilfsbereit, ebenso wie seine Familie. Man fühlt sich jederzeit herzlich willkommen. Wir können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne wieder! 😊

Nastanitevje bila čista, pospravljena vsak dan. Pravtako sva vdak dan dobila tudi novo pitno vodo. Lokacija je izjemno mirna, tiha ampak še vedno samo 5 min vožnje stran od plaže in trgovine. Gospod Pong je izjemno prijazen gostitelj, njegova žena pa zelo dobra kuharica. Priporočam obisk njune restavracije, kjer so vse jedi zelo dobre in zelo poceni.

Umístění ubytování v přírodě a také uprostřed ostrova, všude to bylo blízko - se skútrem naprosto ideální. Dá se půjčit v ubytování. Ubytování bylo čisté a velmi klidné.

Plno komárů a dalšího hmyzu, který štípe. Je to ale daň za ubytování v přírodě.
