The Mäntylä house enjoys an idyllic location by the river rapids, surrounded by forest and far removed from the hectic outside world. The breathtaking morning views from the glass-enclosed terrace beckon you to return. The house is spacious, clean, and tastefully furnished to a high standard. It is better equipped than many private homes, meaning you won't need to bring a thing. The owner, Mr. Juha, is very friendly and eager to offer plenty of advice on local activities. The house features extensive play equipment for children, a sauna, a Jacuzzi, a high-quality wood/charcoal grill with plenty of accessories, and a lovely fireplace in the living area, alongside air conditioning and electric heating. Down by the river, boats are available for use on the river-lake—perfect for boating and fishing—which the children absolutely loved. A well-stocked shop in Sonkajärvi is less than a 15-minute drive away, though there is another one even closer. The surrounding area offers great opportunities for hiking, picking blueberries, and more. Above all, it offers peace, quiet, and a connection with wild nature; we would certainly love to come back, regardless of the season—hopefully soon!
