Gallery Design - SHA Extra Plus

The staff are everywhere to serve the customers. Very well trained and efficient. Reception staff are more than good, they are the best we have seen during our 27 years of Thailand's Hotels anywhere in the Kingdom. Well trained and well supervised. The lounge area is beautiful with the biggest chairs we have ever seen and always with good background music. Very relaxing. Service to the rooms is 100% with great attention to cleanliness. Booking made a mistake on our booking and had reserved a room in the annex to the main building. Unfortunately I have mobility problems and cannot climb 3 flights of stairs. Fortunately the excellent reception staff moved other reservations around and we received a lovely room in the main hotel which has 2 excellent lifts. Unfortunately, I think we missed out on the Booking discount but it was so comfortable we stayed an extra night.

The breakfast price is 200thb extra per person if not included in the room price. There is an excellent coffee machine, an egg chef, cereal, the usual rice soup and a few other Thai choices. In my opinion the other high standards of the hotel are let down a little by cheap chicken hot dogs and processed ham floating in lukewarm water. The dining room is superbly clean, comfortable, interesting decor and nice young staff. I would suggest that if the management were to upgrade the food and serve it hot, then the Gallery Design Hotel could possibly qualify as a 4 ⭐ establishment. We will definitely recommend it and stay again in the future.

Good smart tv. Very clean and helpful staff

The first thing that hits you when you arrive is the decor. The hotel is covered in art-works. It really lives up to the name "Gallery Design". Some of the artworks are prints, but a surprising number of them are authentic originals, some done by local artists. The rooms are an striking feel at first, but after getting used to the layout and finding the english translations for the signs, I felt very relaxed. I found myself sipping a cup of tea from a very nice tea set that was provided At night, the rooms use indirect lighting, I found it a little dark till I learnt where the switches are for the lamps. The reverse-cycle air-conditioner is off by default and needs to be turned on. This is something to remember if visiting in winter. The breakfast was varied enough to have variety, but not so grand that you were overwhelmed by the options. The majority of the dishes served were of fine quality, the chicken sausages and chicken ham were both minor let-downs in comparison to the quality of everything else. The scrambled eggs were my favourite. The affiliated restaurant and their entertainment were of excellent quality. Definitely a cut above most places. The staff brilliantly friendly and helpful, while not all of them speak English well, they do know enough to get by for simple things and always gave it a try

You can see minor cosmetic wear and tear in a few places in the hotel. For example the sign behind the counter doesn't light up properly, and some of the bathroom blinds are beginning to display some wear and tear, but these are only appearance. Everything that serves a practical purpose functions as it should. In a normal room, the keycard is linked to the power. You cannot leave items charging in your room when you go out for the day so make sure to charge items overnight. The premium rooms did not have this limitation. The free Wi-Fi was acceptable for browsing, social media and some videos, but was not stable enough for high-intensity loads. Latency could be an issue if there is a gamer in your family.
