Nice place, very quiet at night. Near to the city, and is good for hiking. Helder is a nice man, and can help with anything. Toilets and showers are nice and clean, and the kitchen is good as well. Beautiful views from the hostel.

Friendly host, nice terrace, bus stop is just outside, bed was comfy - I was sharing a room with one other, they provide towels.
I got into Ribeira Brava after 7pm, there were no Bolts/taxis nor buses. I had to walk 50mins up the mountain, the roads were dark and steep.
The host then told me I could have called to order a transfer, so if you check-in late make sure you call to arrange one! I didn't know they offered this.
The shower needs fixing. The drain clogs up and there is no shower stand.

I really liked the shared spaces on the outside.
Also the Housekeeper was really nice.
Honestly it’s simply not clean and thats the biggest disadvantage and disappointment. The room was clean, the bathroom was ok but the kitchen was contaminated. I would recommend to put the rubbish somewhere else and find a solution to get rid of the cockroaches.
