Playa Blanca Beach Resort

My experience this time was not at all good. The reception closed at 7 om and no one is there to assist after that till next morning if you need anything . You are in your own. The girls at reception were very helpful but only when they are there. There were ants and mosquitos all over the the room. Property is under renovation so it’s messy and difficult stairs to climb to go to the room. Narrow very narrow stairs . No phone service from the room if you need anything help. Power outage a few times in the evening and morning and no one to assist till it came back on its own. I like the people at the property but not the property anymore . We asked for massage service and masseuse was first not allowed to come to the room and then later she was allowed ( not sure what changed ) but by then we had slept , made us wait 30 mins to say no they cannot come for massage service . Rooms very smelly and with ants unhygienic to some extend and glasses and cups also looked they were last washed with just water and kept there for next guest with stains . I would wish to get refunded for the poor experience as we left the room at 9 pm and got bakc at 7 am in the morning and then checked out later . If you can’t then it’s ok we understand .

During our stay, two dogs were being kept at the hotel on the same floor as our room. When my wife attempted to access our room, one of the dogs barked aggressively at her and had to be restrained. Later, when I approached our room, a second dog charged at and attempted to attack me. The situation was only brought under control because a housekeeper intervened and physically pushed the dog away. As a result of this incident, we no longer felt safe staying at the property and decided to leave immediately, despite having already paid for an additional night's accommodation. In the hospitality industry, guest safety and security should be the highest priorities. In our experience, this hotel failed to provide a safe environment for its guests. If a property cannot ensure the safety of its guests in common areas, it falls short of the standards that travellers should reasonably expect from a reputable hotel.

On arrival the only free parking was along the side of the highway. There were 2 parking spots both used by the owners vehicles. The whole facility was under renovation which will probably last more than a year according to what the owner said he will have done. There was a swimming pool but it was filthy from all of the construction and concrete dust. Be aware there are 116 steps from the road to the beach. They said they have lights for the stairs but if you don't ask every afternoon they don't turn them on. The staff is nice and try to be as helpful as possible under the circumstances. The wifi is unusable from any of the rooms.
